More than 100 years ago in the watermills along the river Danube they even had a dedicated stone, ofter referred to as "reddening stone" as the last step of grinding to make sure the seeds and skin are processed properly. Its sole purpose was to grind the paprika seeds so that the important fatty acids from the seeds are mixed with the vibrant, oil soluble pigments in the skin.
