One thing I think most reviews miss is failing to mention that you do need this keyboard to be plugged in to your computer at all times to make any sounds. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: is Mpc Beats (daw) work in reaper ? Can the midi from Beats be tranferred to reaper as midi? are any of the sounds vst's ?**
A: Hi, Akai Pro support here! Thanks for your question. Yes! MPC Beats can operate as a VST instrument within Reaper so you can still access all the supplied content within your favourite DAW. I hope this helps and If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us directly - amzsupport@inmusicbrands.com
Thanks, Krishan

**Q: Does this work with cubase 12 without having to manually map everything?**
A: Hi, Akai Pro support here! No - MPK Mini Plus operates as a generic MIDI controller with Cubase. Cubase 12 specifically, has introduced something called 'MIDI Remote' which contains mapping for many MIDI Controllers and the ability to manually map controllers with ease. The included software MPC Beats, can launched as its own plugin within Cubase as a VST. This software contains pre-mapping for MPK Mini Plus. For further support, please contact us - amzsupport@akaipro.com

**Q: WOuld you reccomend this for someone new?**
A: Hi, Akai Pro support here! Yes, MPK Mini MK3 is ideal for beginners and musicians on the go! We supply you with MPC Beats, 6 Virtual Instruments, and 2GB of sound content to get you started on your journey with music!

**Q: Which daw is best recommended for this, logic, ableton or garageband?**
A: Hi, Akai Pro support here! MPK Mini MK3 features mappings for all of the DAWs listed in your question. If you're just getting started with music production, we recommend MPC Beats (included) or GarageBand. If you are intermediate-advanced, you should use the full MPC software, Logic Pro or Ableton Live.
