Review: Good quality, and works well - I have managed for many years using a chain splitter to pop a rivet to take the chain off, or occasionally removing the split link with a pair of needle-nosed pliers, but I always found it a bit of a faff. I put off buying these for a long time because it seemed expensive for something I'll use for a few seconds about once a month. Finally I bought them and I wish I'd bought them years ago. They are nicely made, feel robust and comfortable in the hand, and they opened the link in my Shimano chain with no effort at all in about half a second. Rejoining the chain is a tad fiddlier, but it is a job which can be done in 5 seconds with this tool. There is no need to file off the stop, as some reviewers have suggested. Just ensure that the tool is inserted deeply enough into the gaps in the links. This tool is a delight to use. I shouldn't have thought about how little time I'd spend using it, but how much time I'd save by using it. I have 2 bikes and remove the chains to clean and wax them about once a month.
