The outcome has been very mixed. It is necessary to edit every paragraph as there are always mistakes. The pen seems to have dificulty with the letter i. Words like saving and municipal never come out right. Review: message came up and the computer was all but rendered useless as the message reappear every few seconds - Rubbish product. Looks cheap and flimsy. The thin card pack looks as though it should contain a CD but all you get is a note telling you to download the software - which I did and then followed the instructions very carefully - including connecting the special Bluetooth dongle at the right time (why isn't my already installed Bluetooth setup adequate?). Switched on the scanner pen and ---- nothing. Then a deathly Cx000000? message came up and the computer was all but rendered useless as the message reappear every few seconds, even after cancellation. I did manage a System Restore so was able to start again. I tried a second instal yesterday and, after a lot of coaxing, managed to get the scanner working - not as I would have hoped, though. On shutdown I again got numerous messages warning me of failed this, that and the other, Cx000 type messages and a refusal to shut down. Eventually it did power off. This morning I was greeted with a blank screen. After a switch off and restart a message came up that Windows was unable to restart, did I want to do a repair? You bet your sweet **** I did. After an hour of not appearing to do very much, the message asking if I wanted to do a System Restore came up. After another long period of anxiety, Windows started and seems now to be OK but that cursed Iris Pen 7 Air is never going near it (or any of my other machines ) again. Will this scanner work fine when I do not put the book on table/hard surface?** A: Hello, Yes it will work, it does not require a hard pressure. Br's **Q: Will it scan written text over computer or mibile screen** A: I doubt it, due to reflection from the screen. While a promising bit of kit, it mis-copies about 10% of words. Mine simply stopped working after a few days of use and I couldn't face the hassle of re-installing the software. **Q: Can left-handed people use this device?** A: Yes. No but it is getting better and better the more I use it and get use to how it likes to be used. It saves me a lot of time for which I am grateful. I would recommend it to anyone who has to quote or reference text from books. I am still using and very happy with this.
