Quality by Boss as always.
If your looking at This you know what it is. I thought I’d give this a go see if I could use it and see what it would do. It’s really simple to use and is really robust so is definitely value for money. It does take a bit of practice to get your timing right or you end up with an imperfect loop. You do get the jag is it though. Over dubbing is great so you can build on basic chords or riffs. I think this is great if you play a few chords in a key then practice scales, runs, licks o we the chords. I can see that after a while you might want to upgrade to something that will generate sounds too. Shame you don’t get a power supply with it but you can get them cheap enough. Battery won’t last very long. It’s a standard Boas pedal size so compact but very robust. The display is easy to follow and very intuitive. All in all I think this is a top piece of kit. It will really help my playing.

Iconic little box for global megastars to bedroom beginners and everyone in-between
It's an already 'classic' product, widely used and familiar. My first impressions upon the purchase? it 'does what it says on the tin' - literally - and does it very well. Functionality is basic, but for anything more sophisticated there are bigger boxes which can do more. And for anywhere outside street busking, there are computers and programs that can do a lot more. Solidly built, as you can expect from the brand and the class of stomp-boxes, electronically functional and reliable, and easy to understand / learn to operate. The slightly more difficult part - smooth on-stage operation and performance -comes with practice and I haven't had the time for that yet. But in the first minutes of owning the RC-1 I was confidently recording loops and having fun jamming with myself, it's that simple. In addition to the included printed instructions, there are many online videos that show how to use it and provide great ideas of what can be done. I am perhaps satisfied because I didn't expect miracles, already knew exactly the capabilities of this unit, and the experience fully met my expectations. Any disappointed users I have come across simply had unrealistic expectations because they had not made the effort to research the product in advance. Yes, it's basic and limited - but within its limitations, the possibilities are nonetheless... endless! :)

Simple loop pedal, good quality
Very basic but works well, no issues with its build quality. Controls are simple although the undo function is a little clumsy. It’s very much a basic practice tool and its sound reproduction quality is excellent. It only stores one loop session at a time but for practice that’s not an issue. The Boss foot switch seems a little curious at first for a looper pedal but it’s easy to learn the dynamic. I use it regularly and find it an interesting contrast to my 2 foot switch EHX looper. It’s fun to use and probably reasonable value for money if you can get one at a slight discount.

nice and simple, good quality of sound
This is a belter of a pedal, very simple to use the rotating lights showing the loop running is a really great idea extremely easy to see, takes away a lot of guessing. i would recommend using the extension pedal to make the double, long presses etc simple to operate. I did not buy the boss one but a British pedal maker called 'bright onions' they make a micro double switch pedal that does the job for £24, excellent and really small, together they are formidable. I do also have a electro harmonix 4 track looper but it is very complicated, reverse sample, slow sample, but i never use the effects and this boss pedal has the same quality of sound. if you want to run one or two sample this is great and more and it gets more complicated in scrolling back and forth to start and stop samples etc. Being stereo is a bonus very good if you use two amps or a stereo set up obviously but equally as useful if you just want to run mono again this is obvious. The only negative to me is the big switch which is part of the Boss design hence buying the bright onions pedal was a no brainer as you get the normal button type switch which always feels more solid and immediate to me, that's just me though may be others will prefer the boss switch. There is the electro harmonix 720 which is approx £118 compared to this at £85, both are stereo and the EH does has a loop selector switch where you can load up 10 samples from a computer for example, and half speed but no use for me as mentioned earlier I needed a simple practice pedal to noodle over, and when live for an acoustic set both of these needs are done with this pedal.

Great Loop Pedal - easy to use and tremendous build quality.
Great looper pedal. Despite what other reviews on the internet might suggest this pedal is perfect if you just want something quite straightforward that gets the job done. I find that in a 'live gig' context you just haven't got time to mess about with anything too complicated and this pedal is perfect. It can take quite long loops, they can be overdubbed. You can change the mode of the way it operates i.e. whether it goes into overdub mode after initial recording - or goes into playback etc. Usual fantastic Boss build quality. My only slight criticism is that the coloured LEDs that give an indication of loop length don't count down like a metronome - if you think about it that wouldn't be possible because of random loop lengths. But it means that they are only an indicator to where you are in the loop cycle and not an absolute measure. But apart from that I can't really fault it. To use it successfully you do have to be able to count in time!! (to start and stop the loop record).

THE gold standard in affordable loop stations, quite stunning!
After a disappointing experience with a budget, micro looper pedal,I did what I should have done straight off and bought this pedal. The RC-1is beautifully made and bullet proof in build.Simple to use with a clever circular 24 segment led display, lets you time overdubs accurately.12 mins total stereo recording time is more than adequate.Remote operation by (optional)Boss footswitch rounds off a fantastic pedal.9v battery can be used as well as a power supply(not included)and comes with battery installed. This is so simple to record/overdub(unlimited)/playback/undo and restore with fast, easy taps on the footswitch. In conclusion this unit has made making great sounding layered guitar tracks, easy and enjoyable. Can't think how I managed for 40yrs without one.Outstanding and for what you're getting, very affordable.Only thing missing is a usb for up/downloading to pc,but if you absolutely must have it,take a look at the RC-3.

recreating the sound at excellent quality. With the volume knob at 12 o'clock ...
My first Boss out of many pedal purchases. I have to say what people say about the build quality rings true, it's solid and really well put together. This is also my first experience of the Boss style large springy footswitch, and I'm wondering why more companies don't adapt it - you can't miss! This is chiefly going to be used for laying down some 12 bar rhythm to practice licks over. Have had a quick go and it handles this with aplomb, recreating the sound at excellent quality. With the volume knob at 12 o'clock I did have to step on a Tubescreamer once I'd recorded the rhythm as the loop volume was quite loud. So maybe turn it down for these purposes or use your guitar volume knob on a quieter setting for the rhythm. I have also tried a couple of overdubs and these were easy to achieve and reproduced well. One thing (for the way I will use it) is the default order for pedal presses isn't ideal, although there is a fix which is in the instructions, which changes the order to record, playback, dub. Otherwise your first press is to record another layer. Just bear this in mind if you watch Youtube demos and don't like the double tap to stop function, you can change it out. The LED wheel has good visibility and works with a visual 'countdown' to give a further aid to synchronising your playing, should you need it. This comes equipped with a battery. I'm powering it through a Voodoo Labs PP2, it is a normal 9v connection but the current draw is 85 Ma which means it'll need it's own connection on similar supplies (dedicated daisy chains are different). I couldn't find this info in the instructions. One last tip for anyone new to this, if you are putting blues rhythm down for example then start playing during the turnaround bars of the 'previous' section, kicking record on beat one of your I chord after that. This will result in a natural feeling loop, starting on beat one bar one can cause problems. Strongly recommended. Once you get a few licks under your belt I can't think of a better practice tool.

does exactly what it claims and feels like it will stand up to some abuse
Great pedal that does exactly what it claims and feels like it will stand up to some abuse. Positives: - Affordable - Solid construction - Perfect to practice scales or solos by using it to record your own chord progressions. - Portable, comes with a battery so you can use it without a power supply. Some negatives: - It will take some getting used to the controls - Having just one button means you'll need to tap dance to make it do the things you need. - It's a bit annoying you have to buy the power supply seperate. - Not the best if you want to use it for live performances. You'd probably want something with multiple pedals / buttons.

Love the RC-1!
Simplicity and reliability are why I love this looper. This is my first looper. It works really well, it’s so straightforward. The other models may have more features, but I’m old, I like things that aren’t too complicated. Sound quality is great. No hiss, no issues. Boss makes quality gear what can I say. Very happy with this. These are excellent for practice and composition. Definitely recommend this looper.

Tolles Teil!

Cordialement,
