Closed, Open and the thickness of the leather?** A: The size is about 8.5 x 4.5" and for the thickness, it depends somewhat on how much you put into the notebook, but it's roughly .5 to .75. It's a great notebook, especially since you can easily replace the pages and Midori makes a bunch of different type of pages and other inserts. It's really flexible! **Q: Is this a genuine midori? they usually run $20 higher and this one says it's made in thailand when i thought they were made in japan.** A: Thanks for your inquiry.Of course a Japanese stationery maker is green.It is produced in Thailand, but don't worry because I circulate in Japan, and a Japanese uses it habitually. **Q: Can you attach a pen/pencil to the notebook?** A: There is not a place to attach a pen or pencil. You will need to purchase the leather pen holder attachment. Just search on Amazon "Midori Traveler's notebook Pen holder" and you will find it. Then pen holder comes in brown and black to match the traveler's notebooks. I own the brown one and it does hold securely to the notebook and the pen holder secures the pen well. **Q: Would a US letter size paper, folded in half fit inside this?** A: You would have to trim standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper whether folded vertically or horizontally. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 7 February 2018* Not my first Midori Travelers note book I have 4 other colours and even though I'm not really a collector of anything else I love this style of leather notebook. I'm hoping to use the black especially for more formal meetings. I'm a great journaller and really love the feel and way this notebook is made. Very simple and functional while being aesthetically pleasing. Of course its not cheap and there are other versions but this is my notebook of choice hardly a guilty secret since I carry it or one of them every day and feel no guilt about my purchase. I don't live near anywhere that sells them and Amazon is a good option for me. The postage was free and it arrived earlier than the expected date.
