It snaps and has a zipper closure.The crochet hooks are nice with a soft, rubbery grip.The small notions (stitch markers, ruler, etc.) are all great.The stitch holder and needle gauge are for knitting so not sure why they are included in this set. They might be able to be used for crochet as I am not an expert but as far as I know they are for knitting only.The folding scissors are amazing. I love how they look like a little pair of glasses when they are folded up. When they are folded the points are completely hidden so it won't poke a hole or tear anything.Very cute set minus the 2 items that really don't belong.
