Like many guitarists of beginner/ intermediate ability I knew a few chords/ scales and their names. But I never quite got a real understanding how scales and chords were constructed, why they were called what they were and how it all fitted together.This book is excellent a really good grounding in an easy going style that is very digestible. The audio examples make such difference, I struggled with learning music cold from books but when you can hear examples of what you are learning it is much easier. I had a whole cavalcade of "Aha" and "Oh i seeee" moments in the first few chapters. Joseph Alexander's style is deceptively simple, and if I hadn't tried a bunch of other authors in the past I would think music books were all fairly similar.
