Carbon removes yellowing tannin and heavy metal from the water. That's all it actually does. So, a 100 gallon marine tank with a light to medium bio load, about 50 to 100 ml per month. Less if you aren't keeping marine. It's good stuff albeit pretty fine, not a lot of dust so you there isn't much rinsing required. No use in a reactor but ok in a bag in a high flow area. I used to put some in a filer bag and drop it into one of my filter socks. **Q: will this help with hair algae.or if not anyone have advice how to get rid of it.thanks** A: Hair algae has nothing to do with light or phosphate aldo read up on fluconazole if you want the gha gone...It doesnt matter how much carbon or rowaphos you add into a tank...Rowaphos does not get rid of GHA carbon does polish your tank but can affect corals...Dose fluconazole 55gram per 20ltr go to a website or chemist you can order 4 boxes of different sites also local chemist send your family in IT KILLS GHA and briopsis...Dont let the know it alls tell you any different...You need also minimum 250ltt tank for marine and a good sand bed you need to add more sand and remove older...TRUST US WE KNOW weve experimented with gha for 2 years now... **Q: Can u use carborn with plant food?** A: Yes, my plants arw fine when i use this. However now only use to pull meds from tank, i use purigen for water clarity. But carbon is good too **Q: How much do you need for 100 litres no where states amount needed to treat certain litreage, cheers** A: There are many grades of carbon so it is difficult to put a figure on it but Juwel put approx 200g of carbon in there Bioflow 6.0 filters which goes into tanks up to 350 litres, so working on that scale I would say if you put 50g of carbon in your filter you should be covered. I am happy to recommend it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Okay but instructions need to be more clear *by A***R on 10 January 2016* Using in my Fluval 206 marine setup along side Carbon and I've seen an improvement in water quality within 6 hours. My only gripe with this (which may well just be down to my own lack of knowledge) was I interpreted the instructions as suggesting you should place the Clearmax directly into the media basket (removing all bags etc...) which I know understand is wrong, the Clearmax should be placed in the media basket inside the bag it comes in (removing only the plastic bag).
