If so how many would I need.** A: Each snake is approximately 3ft long and yes it will do the job you want as they are quite pliable , I don't know how wide a garage is im afraid but im sure you can work it out off this, the hydrosnake comes in a pack of 2 so you would have approximately 6ft coverage . They are an amazing product , they can soak up an unbelievable amount of water . **Q: How long is the shelf life unused?** A: Not really sure. I ordered 2/3 sets and used one last winter and one in the summer. I have kept the last set unopened and thankfully unused so far but can see no reason for it not to work if and when required. It is an excellent product. **Q: Major flood after the rain so bought these. do i have to soak them first or would the rain do the job? can i reuse them? if so how?** A: They recommend wetting the “snakes” a bit before first use but we found the rainwater trying to get into our garage did that for us. They can be reused until they go hard. They get heavier as they absorb the water so we left ours in the sun to dry off a bit. I replaced old ones yesterday morning as they don’t last forever (4 months tops). Last night we had exceptionally heavy rain fall, the worst in years and the hydro snake did the job and kept the garage dry. I’m really happy and just ordered another pack.
