I threw away a piece of paper which had a bit on and the rancid smell never dissipated even when dry. The room stank and took ages to clear the smell even with the windows open. Such a disappointment as the reviews says its a great product and works really well but sadly I couldn't get to that stage. Wondered if anyone else has also had the same problem? Fortunately though, being despatched by desertcart, I was able to return it. The one star rating for the smell alone, cant comment on its durability or anything else. Waterproof - no. Well,not this variety of Mod Podge & not on its own. I would suggest you :- a) First seal the whole area with PVA glue and let dry. (Btw water down the PVA slightly if you don’t want a mildly glossy finish.) b) Place your printed design using PVA as glue when positioning. c) Use one of the Mod Podge varieties aimed at being waterproof such as the Waterproof/Outdoor Mod Podge (this usually has a green label) Or the Hard Coat Mod Podge ( this usually has a purple label ) Or even the Dishwasher safe Mod Podge ( this usually has a light blue label) d) Which ever you choose, cover the whole area thinly but carefully and expect to need at least 2 coats to achieve the lovely flush, waterproof finish you can get with these varieties. The problem is, like with earphones or watches, when products use words like ‘water sealer’ they usually mean ‘splash proof’ not waterproof :) I have used the 3 Mod Podge varieties mentioned above and got great results for waterproofing - whereas I would not use the standard version ( either Gloss or Matt ) if I thought it was likely to ever need more protection that the odd tea stain! :) Good Luck! **Q: can you use this to glitter glass ware** A: I expect you could as it dries clear if used by itself adding a paint colour to it thickens it but you keep the colour within the Mod Podge I use it to sealin paintings as it gives a glazed cover to the painting like a varnish a heavy Mod podge would be best as it will spread further and stays firmer from the start use a medium flat brush to apply **Q: Can this product be used to finish decopatch jewelery?** A: Don't know.
