It is, however, a 2 way switch as I have a door to the outside and a door to my lounge, both of which have switches on the wall next to them in the kitchen to turn on the centre kitchen light and I bought this one to replace the one by the lounge door. If you need one for a room with only one switch in it for the centre light (or wall lights), then you will need a one way switch. I don't think it makes any difference whether the property it is going to be installed in is a house or a flat. Luckily both were for 1 way use so i could cannibalise a screw from L2.
