As long as you 'bake' it at the correct temperature and time you should be ok. Don't use the same tins as you would for baking/cooking, always have a separate set for fimo. I think the fumes are only toxic if you overcook it. **Q: I’ve always found fimo to hard to work with . I’ve not used this - is it actually soft ? Thanks** A: Fimo soft is my clay of preference since it’s more accessible than Sculpey soufflé, etc and it outperforms kato. I use it to make earrings and charms and they always turn out perfect. It doesn’t take a lot to condition, just roll it out a couple of times until it warms up and then it’s as mouldable as okay dough! It mixes well with other clays too as I use it with cernit translucent quite a bit. Once baked it’s pretty sturdy and can bend quite a bit without snapping like other brands :) hope this helps you! **Q: Do I need to buy a glue, or does the clay stick together with slight squishing anyway?** A: The clay sticks together very well whilst it is on the raw state. Some items need to be part baked at different stages to ensure you do not spoil the work you have done. If you rub a little liquid Sculpey clay on the side of the baked piece like you were glueing it, you will find the new raw layer will stick without problems. There are lots of youtube videos to show you how to work with polymer clay **Q: Can this be left to Air dry.** A: There is an airdry clay but the polymer clay does not air dry. It does become crumbly if left cold for too long and will need to be conditioned again.
