Much good
I only played a bit of black ops one before this so can't say i'm a cod vet but after 100 hours+ playtime on ghosts from release i know enough about this game. The key changes are guns kill quicker and maps are bigger, this means good movement is key as you can't turn on a player if they see you first but you don't have to worry about it happening to you either, this rewards good map awareness and intelligent moving, however, gun skill is still critical in 1v1's. I really haven't noticed as many people camping as its made out, and its very unrewarding to do it as the maps are so big. The guns are very well balanced as well, the m-tar smg and remington r-5 AR stood out eventually but this took time to establish, and balances to the vector and bizon have brought them into new light as well, pro's still opt for other guns as well such as an LMG i forget the name of. The perk system is great, each perk costs points and you can pick from a large range in any combination. Killstreaks are also better in my opinion, I worked up a KD of 2.8 on black ops and regularly used chopper gunners and dogs etc, but i always found being on the receiving end much more frustrating than the reward from getting them. Killstreaks now require skill to use them effectively and are far from overpowered. The game is also well made and crisp, the animations e.g knifing and sound effects are very realistic and the maps are exceptionally detailed. I enjoyed running through the campaign, the story was average but the game play was great. however i have stuck mostly with mulitplayer. I do miss theater mode, this was a great way to watch over your all time best games a good way to observe yourself and improve. A better competitive system for casual players would also be nice such as master division etc, but gamebattles are still there and thriving. I also miss point per minute leaderboards and weekly leaderboards from blops 1. Over all i think its a great game, but with a steeper learning curve than before as the maps are more complex with different routes rather than the standard 3 lanes. The excellent bot system can help you prepare for this without getting destroyed online. I have played this game almost exclusively since launch bar a couple of weeks I played some halo's for and I see myself continuing this for some time!

A great single-player experience and addicting multi-player experience
I'm new to the Xbox and to Call of Duty, so I'm not comparing Ghosts with previous COD games. I was pleasantly surprised that the story line was not just a short video at the beginning of the game, but weaved into the 'campaign' single-player experience. The images are pretty stunning and the vibrations in the controller make the experience even more realistic. Not familiar with the Xbox COD series, it took me a while to figure out that the button and stick functions were in the options menu (e.g. how to sprint); but once I got that I managed to get through the recruit level campaign in a few days. Very fun, and apart from repeating it at veteran level, I have played specific missions over again. The multi-player experience has been addictive despite my lack of expertise. I mean, I get killed lots. I suspect that my router configuration or bandwidth may be part, and maybe my slow reflexes and poor knowledge of the maps. But even an old guy like me can have a lot of fun if he builds up his squad and puts them up against other player's squads, or plays one of his characters with other players against bots at the recruit level. One word of advice: don't squander your squad points, and choose the type of squad member you unlock carefully--they will come with perks and equipment that you would otherwise have to use squad points to get. I had to look up information on the net about this, and learn from experience. As you progress in level perks will automatically unlock, so don't get too impatient and start 'buying' them right and left. As far as what weapons and weapon customizations you should buy, I have bought many rifles for my different characters, but so far the Remington assault rifle with an advanced tracking scope and armor-piercing bullets has gotten me the best results. My favorite perks to stay out of people's sights is 'off the grid' and 'take down', but then again, I'm not a very fast draw. So, great game, all in all, but I wish there were some instructions and a strategy guide for newbies like me.

Reasonably good, nothing to write home about.
It seems its almost necessary to write a bit of a preamble to a review of any CoD game as the reader needs to understand the writers perspective to subjectively understand whether or not the reviewer is biased, legitimate or just downright trolling, therefore heres mine: I have never played a CoD game on a console ever. So there you go, this is one written with "fresh eyes". Single player: I am halfway through the campaign, I have found the missions to be very short but the story quite good, even if the "twists" were incredibly obvious, graphically its amazing and the gameplay is reasonably challenging on the high difficulty mode. The ability to slide and to lean round corners not only is fun but is also actually very useful and has made some of the more difficult sections easier to conquer in a strategical manner. My problem with it though is that there is absolutely no choice to be made whatsoever, you will have a squad with you literally telling you where to go and what to do, you are pretty much in a corridor just mowing down opposition then every so often you will get an instruction ("open that door", "hack that computer") whereby it seems dynamic but isn't, it leaves you thinking "why doesnt someone else just do it". Multiplayer: VERY tough I found, Im not gonna lie, Im not very good at it, after all ive never played any first person shooter on a console and im facing off against people who have done literally nothing but for the last x years, it is though regardless of this, somewhat silly. You cannot actually have a gun fight or use any strategical advantage as pretty much half the guns kill you instantly (in under 0.5 seconds) and half the guns are useless (so nobody uses them), the killstreaks are, on the whole (and my best one was a 10 streak) useless, with only probably 3-4 of the streaks actually getting used and the rest just simply not selected. The points system used when you "Create A Soldier" is quite good, allowing you to drop tactical equipment out to use an extra perk for example, and the support and elite killstreak formats (persists through death, no killstreaks awarded, instead extra perks) are interesting but are really only for clan based gameplay or extremely good players respectively. The maps are MASSIVE which seems great, but with no big team game modes available (a friend told me there is usually a game mode called Ground War that is strangely absent) you have maps that would be great if they were 10v10 but with the cap at 6v6 you spend more time actually looking for enemies than fighting, and even when you do see someone, as i mentioned before, there is no fight, its fastest finger wins. Overall: Graphics: 8/10. Sound: 9/10. Controls: 9/10. Story: n/a (I have not finished the campaign yet) Multiplayer: 6/10. Menu's/Interface: 9/10. Replayability: n/a (I have not finished the campaign yet). Longevity: 7/10. In 3 Words: Fast, Fun, Frustrating.

Call of duty: Ghosts- a true epic
Ghosts is a revolution in terms of the CoD franchise. with new multiplayer formats and the potential for being the first in a captivating series, Ghosts is a new experience and an extraordinary one at that. the campaign is a completely absorbing experience with battlefields ranging from outer space to the heart of the amazon jungle, your character is taken everywhere right from the off. the gameplay is smooth, and flowing (operating at 60fps). the storyline is fast moving and completely engrossing. right now I'm hooked! each main character has a distinct personality and are very believable but my only criticism would be that your support players such as Keegan and Merrick are not distinguished quite enough, but overall infiniti ward has accurately got across the Ghosts rules of never-ending resolve. the add-ons such as remote snipers, drones, helicopters ect. are wonderfully detailed but moreover the introduction of a faithful pet- Riley - adds a whole new layer to the experience. overall I would say that the campaign is one of - if not the- finest around right now. the multiplayer is fantastic. the maps are well designed and have a great array of sizes. personally i would recommend the smaller maps such as 'strikezone'. as always with CoD, the guns are awesome and this time there are even arms which are hip-fired such as the KAC chainSAW. all weapons are cool no matter what their standard - including secondary, lethal and tactical - included. on a minor note, i would prefer it if the tactical and lethal weapons had more throwing distance. Squads is equally great. working up from the bottom with a pistol is great fun as well as looting multiple packages. it is more enjoyable considering you have another general with you as support. extinction, despite the criticism it has received- i actually prefer to zombies. the behaviour and appearance of the aliens is much greater than the zombies, and the actual action of systematically working from hive to hive is more enjoyable than ever increasingly thick waves of the undead. on both modes, the default difficulty is just right. overall i would 100% whole-heartedly say that Ghosts is a thoughrully worthful buy- and as i said in the title, Call of Duty: Ghosts IS a true epic Rory O'Sullivan, age 13

Meets expectations
Campaign 8/10: Thoroughly enjoyed it. I couldn't turn off my xbox and the dog wasn't overused (which i thought it would be). I like the story and the events but some missions a bit of the same as previous cods and the fact the person you play as never speaks nearly ruins it for me. Because of the last point it can't be more than a 8/10. Multiplayer 9/10: Much better balancing than previous CoDs and generally fun. Shame about no 2500 kill or 100 headshots patches to keep you playing as gold camo is the only thing to aim for, maps can be a bit big and limited gamemodes with most gamemodes resulting in maps being unavailable. There is a lot to criticise but its still very good. Squads Mode 8/10: a bit overhyped but it still delivers some fun and game time on the various modes. A good thing to do if you get a bit mad or bored of the multiplayer especially as you can still get XP for your MP soldiers even though you are on squads. I quite liked it. Extinction 4/10 or 5/10: I was never that big of a fan of zombies on console due to limited players and no mods and i found extinction even more boring and repetitive. This is a good try from IW but I found it incredibly tedious with or without friends, and having friends just made the game more difficult and it's not a challenge I want to overcome. Nevertheless, could provide some amusement for people unlike me. Overall, even though I might have seemed to say nothing good its a solid CoD and met my expectations :)

feels like a black ops game!!!
ok, so I've had the game for about 4 hours now and I'm going to try and sum up what I think so far, I will repost another review later as for hours isn't enough to get in depth. I will put pros and cons first! pros: (there aren't many) I think cranked is a good fun addition to the game modes, its fast paced and the fact that you blow up if your not constantly racking up kills in the allotted time is classic, when you get down to about 5 seconds you really feel the anticipation of what's about to happen to you. the layout of the menu screens are good and easy to access, not a huge amount of fiddling about popping in and out sub menus etc. they introduced the maniac perk, so if your running assault package and manage to get 10 kills in a row without dying you get a suit similar to a juggernaut suit except you can run fast in it and stab enemies before they even know your there. you are not invincible so bullets can still kill you, so running up to an enemy head on is risky. you can be a women, hey im all for equal opportunities and I think girl gamers will like that. cons: anybody looking for this game to feel like mw3 will be bitterly disappointed, I've rinsed mw3 severely and this game to me doesn't resemble it much at all, yes the controls feel smooth to an extent (when your jumping over a wall) but to me that's where it stops, the controls feel weighed down and sticky like both the black ops games did and as most people have guessed i'm not a huge fan of those games. its a big disappointment really as I always felt that infinity ward and activision games always felt more fluid than treyarchs. grenedes and grenade launchers 9 times out of 10 will not kill your enemy, I was debating weather to put this in the pros column as I think to some extent its a good things that the noobs stopped as they were getting ridiculous on mw3 in some game modes, the reason I put it as a con is because if they don't do what they are supposed to then whats the point of them being in the game? I would much rather spend my squad points on something that's going to do what its supposed to! the maps are massive and there are so many places you can hide, its actually 10 times worse than mw3 or any of the other COD titles, also there are ridiculously dark areas on a lot of the maps so seeing a camoed out sniper will be impossible. I honestly believe this game will be a campers paradise and ruin the game completely. getting a comeback kill on the enemy that just killed you will be impossible most of the time as you spawn miles away from the last location you were in. too many high ledges, buildings, upstairs and downstairs. I couldn't get round most of the map when playing a full game of domination on some of the maps they really are that big and you'll get picked off before you make it halfway. good luck learning these maps as fast as you did the other games. its really hard to rank up and obviously you need to do this in order to get guns, perks etc its time consuming and will take you ages to get the guns you want, I cant believe they changed to a points system where you can literally sacrifice your secondary weapon and other things you don't need in order to get stronger perks. the graphics especially on the final killcams I think are worse, the overall aspects of the vehicles, trees, foliage and buildings etc are not really that much different to the other call of duty games but the graphics of your enemies and you appearance I believe look like one of those artist wooden dummies you can get, the edges and outlines of the body are very straight and not really that curvy, you will definitely noticed this on kill cams. the hardcore game modes have been reduced to 3 modes TDM, KC and S&R. no domination and others are missing too, im sure they will add these later on but I cant think why they just didn't in the first place, saves time, energy and keeps people happy. hit markers/detection is poor its in danger of going in the way of black ops 2 and im not digging that, you literally have to pummel bullets into someone in the right spot or its goodnight, good luck getting a longshot! these are my good points and bad points above but like I said ive only played 4 hours worth so there is plenty of time for my points to change. so in summary, so far im a little disappointed as it feels much more like a blacks ops game and the gameplay has that annoying slow feeling to it, like the black ops titles so if your a fan you will probably enjoy but if you like the fast and fluid feeling of the MW series this is for you. not all things were broken with mw3 so they didn't need fixing and funnily enough that's whats they fixed, instead of really addressing the problems, like excessive camping, bad spawns/spawntrapping, overpowered perks and lag compensation etc. oh and to my dismay ballistic vests and trophy systems are still overpowered and in the game, not good!

Call of Duty Ghosts review
Same old, same old. Call of Duty: Ghosts is the same game as previous years, just changed visually. This game was made for the Xbox one, so the game on the Xbox 360 misses out. They promised a visual spectacle, and it is on the Xbox one, but on the Xbox 360, the game is just the same as previous years. The single players campaign is ok, I personally like it. Some of the missions are very good, including stealth missions, as well as straight up fight scenes which we've come to love in the Call of Duty series. You get very attached to the characters, especially the dog, Riley. However, he is not used much in the campaign as was made out in the trailers. However, some parts of the missions are completely unrealistic, including the ending which *SPOILER ALERT* when you shoot Rorke, the main antagonist, under water, and yet somehow he survives. Also there's a point in one of the first missions where there is a cutscene which is completely identical to one from Modern Warfare 2, as if a copy and paste job had been done ([...] ). Not a bad campaign, by any standards, not brilliant, but pretty good. Onto multiplayer. If you know the Call of Duty series well, then you will recognise that the multiplayer is incredibly similar to past games. If you may not know, Activision and Treyarch make the Call of Duty games every other year, whereby Activision make the game one year, then Treyarch make it the next. Activision made Ghosts, and Treyarch made Black Ops 2. You can see the differences between these games, so the game is very similar to the Modern Warfare series. You die incredibly fast online, so people trying to learn the ropes may struggle, although a recent patch has come through whereby player health has increased. It's a fast action game with only a few strategies need, but if a straight up run and gun game is what you're looking for, this is the game for you. However, the maps were made for the Xbox one. They map sizes has increased slightly from the recent Call of Duty's, and this shows on some of them, such as Siege. Xbox 360 only allows for 6v6 gamemodes, where as the Xbox one allows 9v9, so therefore you can find people more easily. Also, there are now very few players online on Ghosts on the Xbox 360, as the majority of them have moved to Xbox one, so finding a game in some gamemodes, such as Hunted or Search and Rescue is difficult, but not in the well know gamemodes such as TDM or domination. But they have removed some gamemodes such as Demolition which was my favourite :( There are some over powered guns as well, such as the MSBS, which a lot of players used, but Activision have done a good job in gun balance. Overall, multiplayer isn't that bad. Extinction is Activision's attempt at creating a rival against Zombies from the Treyarch series, and although it is much much better than the Spec Ops from the Modern Warfare series, it is still not as good as Zombies. The fact that there is an end to Extinction means that replayability is hard, but if you have a group of friends, it is very challenging at times and can lead to some very fun times. I'm not going to bother talking about Squad modes because I don't really understand it, I don't play it and I don't think many people do play it. Overall, not the best game, but it can be fun at times if lag doesn't screw you over.

Dont listen to any negative reviews or veiws
Call of duty gets so much flak and negative reactions and ghosts is no exception. lets look at all the facts that no one including infinity ward wont admit to (so it does not alinate there fanbase) 1- CoD modern warefare 3 was the last tradtional CoD. Black ops 2 and ghosts have changed the feel and look of CoD in both gameplay and interface. older cods had overpowered 1 or 2 guns and equipement that completely over ran the game and offered no tactics or stratigy to the maps. when Black ops 2 introduced complete balance of gun types/epuipment. pick 10 system and gameplay, guess what everybody cryed. this is a new CoD. if your a fan of the old style (cod 4 mw2) go back to that, the community and cod has moved on and so should you. this is balanced and is a better no more cheap kills or bad match ups and dedicated servers now. took 6 games but they got them. 2- XBOX 360 and Ps3 versions are vastly underpowered and restricted, the game was and is promoted for the xbox 1 ans ps4. the game is a next gen title, but they released it early on current gen to get more sales and hype for the next gen version ( including the $/£ 10 upgrade incentive) thts why people are complaining about lack of people in lobbies/game and missing modes which are in the next gen version. if you are unhappy with the current gen version wait until xbox 1 or ps4 is out then upgrade. i have brought the xbox 360 version and playing it but i will upgrade as soon as the new consoles are out. do your reserch before making bad reveiws, cause the games community dictates how good the game goes, so if your a true fan you play the game you love no matter what.
