Split level I needed to get under the floor from about 5' from the laundry room (no ceiling). Drilled through two 2×12 joists and through the floor from the upstairs cable outlet hole, and using a cheap endoscope I got here on Amazon managed to pull a string and then a Cat6 ethernet cable.Only downside was having to cut the cable clip protector off as the hole was too small for a molded ethernet connector. If you are running ethernet, I would recommend the next larger 3/4 size.They recommend a two handle drill, I used a regular drill. Hold it tight and use a medium high speed. Too slow and it gets stuck.
