For drinking water, any colour change however slight would suggest you have the water tested by a laboratory before drinking it. I was concerned about contamination from heavy metals in the ground. I extracted small amount of apple juice and followed the instructions from the bottle, the apples did not contain any traces of metals but just in case the the product did not work properly I conducted an experiment.
