As mentioned they're not to scale, but I don't see how anyone could expect them to be. The ring of Saturn can 'flop' a bit but it's a minor issue. Again, it is an inflatable planet kit, not an orrery. Each planet has a small loop so they can be suspended from the ceiling. I think it is a nice touch and allows the user to suspend the planets from the ceiling if they so desire. To give an idea of size, Saturn is roughly the size of a basketball. Sün forinstance?** A: They are somewhat proportionate as the image shows. The Sun is the largest and the other planets are some scaled version of themselves (the directions explain the scaled sizes). However, as another buyer said, the proportions are not as accurate as possible as the Sun would be giant and everything else minuscule. As this inflatable solar system is more for display or demonstrative purposes, it is a great start but not the exact scale replica that older scientists might want to look at. It was great fun for my 3rd grade students and a lovely addition to the classroom decor. **Q: Could we use them in the pool?** A: I don't see why not. **Q: Can we use helium instead of air?** A: You can add Helium to them but they would be too heavy to float.
