I eagerly opened one and began to stick onto the corners of my sofas, (which my 4 year old cat has suddenly decided that these are far better to 'prime' his claws than the 3 other 'official' cat scratching posts we currently have dotted around!) Easy to apply onto your desired surface, but I would advise to make sure it has adhered properly before attempting to take off the backing paper, otherwise it will just peel off the original surface.. Once in place you will need either nails to edge a corner off the backing paper or a knife or similar as found it quite hard to get the corner 'going' to peel it off. Once in place, be warned it is very sticky, so any passing cat fur or similar will adhere to it, so in time it may look like a duster (covered in said dust/fur/ or similar) My cat did attempt to try to sharpened his claws but gave it up a bad idea when he found hid front pads stuck firmly to 'sticky paws'... so hey presto, it works!... Will see how long it is before the stickiness subsides, but hopefully that will be well after Louis (the cat) has finally realised that furniture is not the ideal cat friendly solution to his sharpening claws needs. Review: Overpriced double sided tape - This is a standard roll of double sided tape with a rediculous profit margin because it's 'a pet product'. The actual tape is low quality, not very sticky. The backing paper is difficult to remove, without pulling the tape up with it. The product says on the package that this is an alternative to declawing a cat. It certainly is an alternative as declawing is illegal in the UK (thankfully). This claim leads me to believe they aim this product at American consumers primarily. I stuck this on a smooth Formica topped table. Left it there for a couple of weeks, then decided to remove it as the cat just ignored it. It would not shift, had to soak it with spirit to get it off. DONT put it near decent furniture. In fact don't bother with it at all. **Q: Would this work on the rubber seals around glass/bi-fold doors? Cat digging/scratching very expensive doors and not sure how to stop him. :-(** A: It has certainly worked on natural cotton arm chair/settee sides: the tape hasn't damaged the cotton at all and it has stopped the cat clawing at the arms. I'm not sure if the tape would stick to the rubber seal if it is a silicone based rubber, but it should stick to the wooden doors themselves, if the cats is going for the rubber you would be able to stick around the rubber on the door. It is basically a double sided polyurethane tape. It isn't as sticky as double sided carpet tape so can be removed without damaging the surface to which it has been stuck. Our cat definitely does not like putting here paws or claws on it but oddly seems to enjoy pulling it off the suite with her teeth! I had to do something as you could imagine on my days off this waking me up at 6.30am isn't fun! So I looked into these strips and they seem to have deterred her from scratching that area, so she moved to another part of the bed.. again strips have been used and since its been okay she tries and fails! I have a dodgy old sofa that she uses so these strips I was testing in areas before I bought a new sofa to see if it works which I think it does.
