Plasti-kote 1138 400ml Super Clear

While it lasted the result was reasonable but the third time I used it having left it for 3 days the spray nozzle failed to work so I have an almost full can of lacquer I can't use. I have sent the company 3 emails and not had one reply so, make of that what you will I make that as we do not care we just want to sell the stuff and b*****r the customer's wants or satisfaction, that way they will buy another one, really?? I don't think so!!!

Ughhh.... I thought I'd try this as I normally use Hycote Clear but so far it has just driven me crazy... every time I spray a layer, tiny flakes seem to come out and once dry there are obvious imperfections in the finish... lost count of how many times I've sanded it back and tried a fresh layer.... to find more debris appearing.... I'm going back to Hycote.... it's not as runny either.

Bought this product to seal in paint decorations on glass jars and a Perspex mirror. It completely fogged up the mirror so it is now impossible to use. The jar coating is quite rough to touch and again it is not totally see through in that it makes the glass look foggy (or as my 12 year old said like it has condensation on it). The items were gifts which were all good can until I sprayed this on them. My own fault for not testing first but I didn’t have spares of either item so couldn’t do so. Would not recommend product if you are looking for a truly clear end result.

its a shame that its not clear. This settled to a off yellow color on white surfaces, so it just looks bad. The idea is to use clear film to cover items , but this has discloured and turned out a yellowish tint which doesnt work for me for what i need it for :(

Turned everything yellow and had a ridiculous spotty texture which at first I thought it just needed to gas’s off and then would be fine after a few more coats. The photo of the texture doesn’t do it justice due to blowing around in a breeze as I took the pictures outside so I could get the truest “colour” results from this “clear spray paint.

This is a great finishing super clear lacquer ideal for anything you’ve painted or you wanna put outside. It gives a good coverage. A good consistency is a nice thickness doesn’t smell too much. Easy to use good value for money. Last a long time would definitely recommend and will buy again and again.

I've used this in the past, but the formula has now changed. In the past it had a really strong aniseed type smell, took weeks to fully cure, but was really good with great results. The new formula has much less of a smell and drys much faster, unfortunately it doesn't bond very well to itself and the results, at least in my case, weren't as good. The most frustrating bit being it a bit of a gamble which version you now get if you buy online. (The cap and labelling is slightly different on the other version, worth buying if you can still find it in shops).

my 4 stars is purely down to my liking. after painting a gameboy case decided to clear coat it, went on easy and smooth but obviously my matt finish was no longer matt! had no issues, decent size for the price. i was hoping it would seal my paint but without making it glossy.
