I use this on both my horse and one of my long haired dogs and it does exactly what it claims to. The dog's hair is very fine and this is the only thing that helps me keep her coat well brushed and silky. I use a little on the ends of longer sections of her coat that can become matted very quickly and it does make the job a whole lot easier; in fact, if I brush every day and re-spritz every other, it's a few minutes versus what used to be hours. I have tried other shine/detanglers but always come back to Carr and Day, simply because it works and stays on. It is true to its claims on keeping manes and tails silky and tangle free, however I wouldn't say it lasts two weeks, maybe 3-4 days max. In milder muddy weather I use it all over my horse to repel and make the mud easier to brush off. It works great, highly recommend! Nb: Some people may not like the new bottle, it is quite slippery in itself and the spritz goes on for quite a while, which I like but others may not. My horse bolts as soon as he hears a trigger spray, but these new Equimist spray bottles are quieter and the spray comes out in a much finer mist, so much better for using on him! I can't see that the formula has changed in anyway, so that's good.
