I decided to do an oil change on a car I had just purchased. The old oil was well past it`s use by date. Having done an engine flush and a new oil filter I added the Castrol edge. Within a couple of days the performance of the car had a noticeable difference. Also the temperature range this grade of oil covers is the best. The price can vary quite a lot , so when I spotted this I thought "what a bargain " so I purchased 2x4 litres and will be looking to buy some more in the very near future. Delivery was as stated.

My car has been consuming copious amounts of oil, I'm sure its a weird issue with the car itself. But with not solution in garages I've been refilling a lot. This one seems to last the longest out of all the oils I've used

when it comes to oils, especially for older cars I have always believed that you need to get the best oil. The engine and moving parts need lubrication at low and high temperatures as well. This Castrol EDGE seems to deliver. I literally felt and heard a difference in my Mini after I had put 2 pints in. The price was very good.... just purchase a funnel (a cheap one) at the same time. When measuring oil in the engine.....car on a flat surface, cold engine (a warm and running engine discplaces the oil and makes it seem emptier), take dipstick out one, wipte it clean with a paper towel, reinsert dipstick, pull out, look at levels, add accordingly if needed - as told to me by a pro

Check with your dealer or mechanic that you can use this grade of oil as its usually for newer cars that has done less then 50k on the clock. Its not to say you can't use it, you can but you may not get the most out of it. If your car has done more then 50k then go for 5W-30.

I wish I would have tried it earlier to avoid replacement of starter for my 06 civic. Basically I bought the cheaper low quality Castrol Magnetec after the MOT and soon as I started to top up the problems appeared. The car was making a stranger noise at startup because of too greasy oil and starter & fly wheel not engaging properly specially in the cold weather. Soon after I started to top up with castrol edge 0w30 the behaviour of the car changed completely, it was like driving a different car. No engine noise or the strange sound at startup. Also it feels like a slide on the snow, I don't have to press the acceleration so much because of parts being lubricated so well. Do yourself a favour and go for it. You won't look back.

What can you say? It arrived within 20 hours of ordering so hurrah for Amazon's pickers and packers, and the Royal Mail boys. It's nice an oily and apparently meets BMW's specification. And it's now made the end of the dipstick look all shiny and clean. The container however appears to have been designed by a dimwit in the marketing department with a bit of help from the bimbo on reception as it spills oil all over the engine when topping up the level. At the prices they charge for this stuff, you'd have thought Castrol would have been able to invest a bit of effort in packaging design. I recommend using a funnel unless you want the contents on the outside of your engine and on the drive rather than in the sump where it seems to work best. Hang on though... maybe that's why Castrol designed it that way.

Good value, high quality oil that I used on a Nissan Micra 1.6 C+C. The engine is quite sporty and the car I maintained had been abused by the previous owner i.e. no oil top-ups and run into the ground so that there was no oil on the dipstick and the brakes were completely worn out. I used a flushing oil to remove the accumulated muck before replacing with a high quality oil filter and refilling with this excellent oil. I use the same oil with a different grade in an X-Trail.

Seit über 20 Jeahren verwende ich nun dieses Motoröl für meinen BMW. Zuerst hieß es "Castrol SLX" und und hatte einen grünen Farbton. Dann wurde es zu "Castrol Edge" umbenannt und die grüne Farbe wurde hellbraun. Zuletzt hatte ich Probleme mit der Vanos (mech. Nockenwellenverstellung) am meinem BMW Motor, aber das hatte nichts mit dem Castrol Edge 0W30 zu tun, sondern ist einfach nur eine Krankheit an vielen BMWs. Beim abbauen des Ventildeckels konnte man sehen, wie sauber das Öl den Motor gehalten hat. Im inneren des Zylinderkopfes war alles hell goldbraum und nicht dunkelbraun bis grauschwarz. Für mich war es die Bestätigung, dass ich auf das richtige Öl gesetzt habe. Für eine Zeit lang (2020-2021) hatte das Castrol Edge 0W/30 keine Zulassung für BMW Motoren. Plötzlich war es nur noch für Renault und andere Fahrzeuge zugelassen. Das hat sich aber wieder geändert. Nun prangert auch wieder die BMW LL-04 Zulassung auf der Rückseite der Ölkanisters. Für welche Motoren ist dieses Öl geeignet? Viele werden sich fragen, ob dieses Öl, neben der offiz. der Fraigabe auch für ihr Fahrzeug geeignet ist!?!? Grundsätzlich ist dieses"dünne" Öl für Fahrzeuge geeignet, welche konstruktions- und verschleißbedingt ein geringes Lagerspiel von Pleullagern und Kolben haben. Dies trifft i.d.R. auf neuwertige Fahrzeuge, sowie Fahrzeuge mit geringer Laufleistung oder Fahrzeuge, die von Beginn an nie ein 15W/40 oder 10W40 Öl gesehen haben. Dieses Öl ist weniger für hochgezüchtete Motoren, wie z.B. dem BMW M3 oder BMW M5 (Spezialfreigabe!) geeignet. Da sollte man sich nochmals explizit informieren.

Este aceite hace su trabajo a la perfección. Desde que lo uso, el coche va más suave que la seda, el consumo de combustible parece haber mejorado ligeramente y el arranque en frío es impecable. Además, al ser sintético y de baja viscosidad, protege el motor como un escudo invisible, reduciendo la fricción y optimizando el rendimiento. Eso sí, no esperes que venga con superpoderes para arreglar un motor destrozado, pero si quieres darle a tu coche el mejor cuidado posible, este aceite es de lo mejorcito del mercado. Pros: ✅ Lubricación excelente, el motor funciona más suave ✅ Buena protección en arranques en frío ✅ Reduce la fricción y mejora la eficiencia Contras: ❌ No es el aceite más barato del mundo, pero la calidad lo vale Conclusión: Si quieres que tu motor te lo agradezca con años de servicio sin problemas, este aceite es una apuesta segura. ¡Pura mantequilla para el motor!

Très bonne huile, j'ai une BMW 530d de 2003, depuis que je roule avec cet huile mon moteur tourne mieux moin d'effort moin de fumée et plus économique. Je recommande cet huile pro.

Poco se puede decir de este aceite, "Castrol" y "EDGE". De los mejor que podemos encontrar en aceite para cuidar al máximo nuestro motor. Los aceites Castrol están considerado de los mejores, y la gama EDGE es el tope en avance de la marca. Aceite full sintetic que ayuda a reducir el desgaste del motor y reducir el consumo. Graduación 0-30W para una perfecta lubricación del motor desde el mismo arranque. Esta lata de 4l la encontramos normalmente entre 60 e incluso 80€ en tiendas. Aquí me costo 15€, un precio de risa.
