**Q: Will it protect against the elements? Keep things dry is my main concern.**
A: water resistant / repellent, not water proof - two options would be to use a spray water proofing like 3M on it or ziplock bag for what "must" remain dry. I've used it in light rain and haven't had a problem. Hope this helps.

**Q: How good is the velcro's quality? I am trying to use it on a service dog's vest. Do you think it'll hold without falling off?**
A: We use this for my daughters service dog and it works great. (we have one for each side) See all the pictures. There are straps that attach it to the vest. The velcro is for the "service dog" patch.

**Q: Is this padded? If so, what is the style or thickness of the padding (i.e. is it more than a second layer of material)?**
A: More link a second layer of material. Not really padded at all. No foam

**Q: Are the zippers and hardware metal or plastic going to use in an around saltwater for fishing?**
A: The zippers and hardware are metal.

They don't match the tan shade of the diaper bag, but still is very useful. The snap closures can be a bit difficult, but at least you know it's secure. Easily fits your phone and multiple other items.
