Review: My first truly useful work light... - I've been "collecting" work lights for years. I have several old fashioned 110V hang-from-the-hood mechanics lights that use regular incandescent bulbs. One dates back to the sixties. You probably know how useless (and hot) they can be and how easily they break. I have a tubular fluorescent 110V (not bright enough), a Craftsman rechargeable LED (not bright enough), a DeWalt 12V and a DeWalt 18V. Both DeWalts are flashlights with updated LED bulbs. Neither is particularly useful for, say, changing your oil or fixing the plumbing under your kitchen sink. Why? Because they are not floodlights and merely focus a bright spot of light in one small area. Neither was of much use when I was installing new valve covers on my Mustang. Ditto my Milwaukee 18V. So, after ordering 4 new 20V 5AH DeWalt batteries as a Christmas present to myself, I decided to see if there were any new and improved DeWalt battery powered work lights available. When I discovered a whole new array of LED floodlights that would snap onto the new batteries, I decided to give one a try. But, I was overwhelmed with the variety of choices. So, after reading reviews until I needed new lenses for my reading glasses, I decided on this one. I knew it was made in China and I feared it would be too fragile to drag around my cars, boat and general house projects. And, would it provide the kind of illumination I really wanted? OK, here's my experience so far: I've already used it under the hood and under the car. Perfecto! Then, when the outside temp got down to 4 degrees, the power went out and so did the furnace. At night. This little light lit up the entire living room like a couple of table lamps were turned on high. The 5AH battery never broke a sweat. By now, I've used it several times for extended periods. The light never seemed to get all that hot and has a generous aluminum heat sink on the back. It has a built in hanger, which should be useful, and is easy to install on and remove from the DeWalt battery. The battery makes a great anchor for the light and keeps the light from falling over like a flashlight sometimes does, yet the light itself can tilt. Final verdict: It may or may not be super tough, but with a little care, I believe it will be useful for a long time. It's just plain bright on low or high, but the light is evenly spread out over a large area. In other words, it is a true flood light, which is far more useful than a flashlight for most of my projects. Finally, I left it attached to one of my brand new batteries for three days (turned off) and the battery still showed a full charge. So, at long last, I finally have a work light that is actually useful. When and if it breaks, I'll update this review. UPDATE 2-14-23 Yesterday, I realized that I had NOT removed the battery from this light after last using it. That was about 2 weeks ago. As other users have reported, the battery, a nearly brand new 5AH unit, was totally dead. Fortunately, it did accept a charge, but in the future, I will separate the battery from the light when not in use. I am very satisfied with the light itself. It is mega useful.
Review: Lamp portable - I was really impressed with how bright it is; it's small, comfortable, very compact, and super easy to use.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this upgraded version still drain batteries if left connected but off?**
A: I bought mine in December 2022, so I do not know if there is a later version. Mine will drain a battery in about 2-3 days if not removed from light.

**Q: what is the batterie run/working time on my each setting?**
A: It depends on the battery capacity you use. For example, 20v 5.0ah dewalt battery generally lasts for 6-7 hours. If the battery capacity is large, it can last longer

**Q: Whats the lumens for 23 watt model please ... ??? Thanks..!!**
A: i do not know nor do i care what the lumen rating is because it is arbitrary at best' a more accurate evaluation of the light output would be the lux rating at a specified distance. however this has adequate amount of light as work area flood light. don't leave the battery engaged while not in use or it will discharge.

**Q: Where is such a small light applicable?**
A: Because of their brightness and flexibility in any environment, I like them very much. I keep these things under the seats in the car, at the barn entrance, on the workbench, or beside the bed. In case of power failure, I can use them at the first time
