I have had no issues with it what so ever. It's never got warm enough for the fan to come on using my President George with my RM ITALY 503HD OR WITH MY RCI X9 HP. Physical size is equal to 2 Cobra 29's stacked. I run my radios at 14.1 volts which is adjustable from 9 to 15 volts at a max of 50 amps. It has on the front a 12 volt car plug in and 2 terminals for wire leads for other accessories. In the back you do have a built in fuse for the unit- a large +/- red and black terminals and a toggle switch for 13.8 volts on or when off 9 to 15 volts via knobs on the front below the 2 lighted meters for volts and amps. This is what I use for my power supply because I'm not going over the amps usage with the equipment I'm running or the volts. I highly recommend this unit if your looking to upgrade with more amps. It's good quality and very very low noise to none and with no interference into the radio.. OF coarse I'm using mine for CB/11 meter radio but it will power and can be used for anything within the 9 to15 volt range not using any more than 50 amps for other applications. I like that it has two LED lit dials, one for amps being drawn and one for voltage. I have mine set for 13.8 volts DC as recommended by most amateur radio gear. When transmitting with my HF or VHF transceiver at 100 watts, the voltage does not drop any nor does the needle even flicker. The amp meter does show the proper amount of amperage being used. The fan does NOT run constantly like a lot of the switching power supplies do. It is a very quiet power supply. The fan will come on if I am running high wattage on 100% duty cycle modes of transmission. The fan runs only until the unit cools back down and the fan is not very loud. The unit has a voltage adjust knob on the front along with an offset knob for moving any "birdies" that the power supply might generate, but I have not found that to be a problem. There are also two sets of Anderson Power Poles on the front along with a cigarette lighter type outlet. The main power is supplied through two heavy duty connectors on the back of the unit.
