The weight of the spoon is evenly distributed so when you leave the spoon in a bowl or pot it does not fall out...splattering food everywhere. I had a Cuisinart silicone spoon and the handle was stainless steel but the silicone portion of the spoon was light. This caused the spoon on quite a few occasions to to flip out of the bowl or a smaller pot when left after serving the food. The silicone portion of the Chef Frog spoon is strong enough to scrape up and stir up food good as well as be a great serving utensil. The Cusinart spoon I had did not have this cooking capability. I highly recommend this spoon. I bought the slotted version of this spoon as well. I only wish it came in different colors. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for multiple purposes - mixing & serving *by T***Y on January 9, 2015* I've used wooden utensils in all my cooking for a number of years and then a large plastic serving spoon. Inevitably, that serving spoon would get set in the hot food. So I wanted a silicone spoon that would not have an issue at higher heats. This one is perfect. The proportions are nice, the handle does not get hot and I feel a lot more comfortable when its set in hot food. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Sturdy but for Aging Hands a Fatter Handles would be Better! *by W***S on February 8, 2021* I've been looking for stirring/cooking utensils with fatter handles for aging hands that cramp easily when the handle is too skinny. I ordered this one out of curiosity but was wary because of the metal handle - and whether the rapid heat transfer (heat warmth away from hands & into handle) would cause hand cramping like metal knitting needles can. So far, the metal does not seem to be an issue. It certainly is sturdy when stirring batter and dough. I primarily purchased this for stirring and it has been good for that. As the bowl of the spoon is pretty shallow, it wouldn't be terrible good for serving what has been stirred...unless it is something thick like potato salad.
