I used so that i could control my Halo light on my headlight for my motorcycle and it works great. You can have the light around the button always on or you can have it on whenever power is running to it (aka whenever my halo light is on). I have it wired to turn the ring on when my halo light is on. It DOESN'T come with any wiring diagram BUT it doesn't take long at all to mess around with your wires for your application and figure out how to wire it.
