Especially when placed in the plastic bag as recommended?** A: Hello, some of the fast freeze sleeves that I have, do , do that; they become solid and frosty while in the freezer. You could let it thaw, so it can become softer. I personally don't. You see, I don't put it in the bag. I just let it be in the freezer for couple of hours, take it out and then use. I use it primarily for my elbow, but it's quite useful to chill a tender achilles tendon or kneecap. My only complaint is that after a year each of the first two began occaisonaly leak tiny drops of the interior blue liquid. Obviously I like the sleeve so much I purchased a replacement each time. Hopefully this won't happen with the 3rd sleeve, which does't freeze up quite as firmly as the earlier versions and is therefore easier to initially slide on. The product is well designed. Very durable and slips around my arm so I don't have to hold an ice pack on my elbow anymore. The sock like sleeve that goes onto my arm is comfortable and provides a barrier so the ice sleeve doesn't touch my skin. Just put the sleeve onto your arm , and then put the Quick Cool onto your arm. It stays cool a very long time....like hours. You won't be disappointed. I'm going to buy a larger one to fit around my knees for when I strain those.
