Replace it with this 31" (79cm) 5-section chrome power antenna so that you can enjoy clear radio reception once again. The removable mast has a universal design that works with a wide range of vehicles. This replacement power antenna is easy to install and includes six 1" (25mm) custom mounting bases with 55" (140cm) detachable cables with a male Motorola plug for the connection.

The first one with a steel panel worked but burned out after a couple years. - So a slightly weird use case I know but if they can do this in a dusty chicken run they will work fine in your car with no other weight on them. The antennas are under cover so don't get rained on but they get dusty as heck.

The unit did not function at all. I had to unistall it (a huge loss of time) and bench test it. Sure enough, it did not work. The company actually expected me to pay for its return. I would not buy anything from them again. If it a worthless piece of junk, they want you to pay to have it sent across the country. Obviously, they can't afford to pay for shipping because so many of them don't work. I have now looked at the brushes and the commutator--shockingly small! Like the size of a pen tip. My old Lincoln/Ford antenna has a motor that had brushes that were the size of tip of my thumb. Bad design, bad retailer. Beware!
