Like a cookbook, the author explains the techniques and gives advice on the brand of circular needles they have found most helpful. Also, there are some patterns and projects in this book. Not sure how the another reviewer missed them. This large font, large margin, book is wonderful if you know nothing about knitting and you are learning knitting from step one. have vision problems, and like to write a lot in the margins. If you are already familiar with how to do a basic knit stitch, and what to keep in your little tool bag, then the first 97 pages are a waste. 206 pages, minus 97 pages. And the remaining pages are large font and large margin.
