Better than the desciptions.
Much better than the one recommended by Consumer Reports. Pros: Price is a steal for the features. Shows current water tep. Quicker to heat than my 1200w microwave. Temp can be set 4 options plus 212F. It will hold the Temp set for at least 12 hours. Can be removed from the base for a couple of minutes, and when returned it remembers the settings. Even at 212F for hours, it is not hot to the touch. Very wide opening - I fits my hand for easy cleaning of the inside. Markings inside for minimum and maximum fill levels. All the normal safety features. Tha top doesn't leak when pouring. Good length heavy duty power cord. Well packaged. Cons: The manual is very detailed. And the unit doesn't have a way to have it start in the morning before I get up. But since the water here is maybe not the best, and therefore I typically boil it a long time to get rid of the chlorine, etc. - if I fill it before bedtime, turn on the Temp hold, when I get up the water is just right for a good cuppa and the chemicals have had time to evaporate. So, basically no cons. I am very well pleased with this purchase, and am thrilled at how little it cost compared with choices that are not as good and had less features.

Great upgrade to typical electric kettle
The different temperature presets are great. I can have warm water for my kids without having to boil water in a regular electric kettle and randomly mix it with cold water or tell them to wait until it cools, which never works either. I can also heat water for yeast for bread making. I don't think it's super accurate (I picked 122 for yeast and it heated to 140 according to the kitchen thermometer) but it beats your typical electric kettle and having to wait much longer for water to cool. Yes, it does beep a lot, but if it doesn't beep to let you know it's done, then if you pick a preset temperature, there's no way for you to know it's reached it unless you hover over the kettle like a helicopter patent. So the beeps don't actually really bother me in the end. I thought they would be really annoying, but it's fine. The only major disappointment is the latch that keeps the lid closed looks like it's made of flimsy plastic. Technically it does not touch the water. But it seems like an oddly cheap point in an otherwise nicely made kettle. I probably would have paid a few dollars more for it to be stainless steel because it seems like this part will break soon (since you always have to open and close the lid), but until then, I intend to use the kettle as much as I can!

Nice, but loud and the beeps are annoying
I like the features on this kettle. I like the different brew temperatures and I like the "keep warm" feature and I find it simple enough to use. I haven't measured the actual water temperature at each of the levels, I'm really not that picky about it, so I have no idea how accurate it really is. It boils pretty quickly and it works. Point taken off for two issues, 1) this thing is LOUD. Like, it scares my dog loud. Granted my dog is a chicken and scared to death of rain and storms but this thing is loud enough that the sound triggers him. And I know it's loud because I bought a "quiet" kettle in comparison and that thing is virtually silent, so this one is LOUD. 2) The beeps are annoying and I would like to be able to turn them off but I don't think there is a way. Other than that, this is a nice kettle. It seems to do what it is advertised to do, just could do it a little better with a few tweaks. Edited to add: I want to clarify about the beeping. It beeps once when you set the kettle on the base (if the base is plugged in). It beeps when you press the power button. It beeps at EVERY temperature setting if you select the "temp" button (so a beep for every temperature you cycle through). It beeps when you select to keep warm. Basically it beeps every time you press any button. Then it beeps three times when it reaches temperature. It beeps if you remove it from the stand and put it back on. It beeps when it turns itself off. It beeps if you turn it off manually. This is ridiculous and there is no way to turn it off.

Much quieter beeps than my previous Cuisinart RIP. Overall a nice upgrade, and for half the price.
The lid latch on my Cuisinart kettle just broke and no one repairs things anymore so I replaced it with this one because 1) looks 2) price 3) the above video review/ad. What I like better: the lid opens wide and the kettle is far quieter, both when boiling and when beeping. What I miss: the Cuisinart choices of preset temps were set for various types of tea and coffee (160 Delicate, 175 Green, 185 White, 190 Oolong, 200 French Press, 212 Black). I prefer these presets and the reminder label of which temp is for which tea. This one has more choices at the low end, but is missing those choices in the middle. It’d be great if we could get a software upgrade or tutorial to add additional temps, but meanwhile it does display the actual temp so it’s possible to watch it and stop when it hits the perfect number. I also wish it was smaller, 1L would have been just right. Otherwise it’s a much better price and a nicer looking kettle.

very good quality, and the stainless steel doesn't change color
I have tried a few different kettles in the same price range. This is by far the best one so far. 1st, the 304 stainless steel in the kettle doesn't change colors. I have heated a few times, everything still looks the same, and clean. On the other cheap kettles, once you heated a couple times, you can start to see the discolorations. 2nd, the auto shut off actually works. Another brand I have used, the auto shut off doesn't work at all. It would keep boiling, but no shutting off. This one would boil for about 30 seconds to 1 mins, then auto shut off. well nicely done. 3rd, the bottom of the base actually have robber feet. This keep the base in place, and won't slide around. This might seem like a small thing, but its very helpful, especially on the kitchen counter. For the price, this is a great kettle!!!

Will occasionally heat my water but don't count on it
I was so excited when this kettle came. It looks so clean and sleek, and holds a lot of volume. However, the buttons are extremely unresponsive and when I use the temperature selection function, the temperatures will either not change or skip past the temperature I want. It will also randomly change the temperature I set it to. Even when I do manage to set it to any temperature other than 212, the water does not heat. The only way to get this kettle to heat up water is to use the automatic 212 degree preset option. If you swivel the kettle on the base at all (not even lifting it up) then all of the options you choose change. Total waste of $40 when I could have just bought a cheap kettle that would do a better job.

Worth The Price
I’ve been steady searching for a good electric kettle that would withstand daily use. Temperature control is important for me I can set it and forget it because of the option to keep it at the same temperature, allowing me to multitask in the morning. I can make my tea or coffee whenever I’m ready. This is a quality kettle that’s user friendly and easy to clean and doesn’t take up too much counter space super quick to heat up as well. The only gripe I have (this is un-pertaining to performance function) is that the color is more like a minty blue than a true pastel green. Overall really happy with my purchase!

Ok to use but with safety concerns
1) When the lid is opened, hot water formed by the steam drips down to handle onto my hand. I got burned by hot water quite a few times. 2) The lid that's close to water is stainless steel but it's equipped with a piece of plastic catch to secure the lid. If you forget to open the lid when you pour water, the hot water might come into contact with the plastic piece. 3) The top part of lid is plastic. The next layer of stainless steel close to water is smaller size. That creates a smal rim area of plastic around the stainless steel which the steam water accumulates and drips down to my cup when I pour. I end up having to wipe off water on the inside of plastic rim before I poured. Of course, that action prevents me from getting burned by hot water that drips down to my hand. But I often forget to do it. Frankly, I don't want to have to do it. After I received my Joyhill electric kettle, I found that it just offered a big discount on Amazon. I didn't bother to send it back. But I'm not happy about it for sure. Next time I'll buy another brand of electric kettle with removable lid. 7/17/24 update: I got burned again by the hot water dripping down from the lid to my hand holding the cup. So I know I should place the cup on counter instead of holding it in my hand. But I keep forgetting that and so I get burned by the hot water. Quite unhappy!
