Definitely avoid using a utility knife or anything very sharp to open this and definitely cut away from the inside of the box when opening. The product claims to be leather but I am more inclined to believe that it is a faux leather, or to be as optimistic as possible, the seats are leather but the rest of the chair is not. You can even tell upon opening that the seats are a slightly different shade than the rest of the couch. Not a drawback altogether as I didn't expect this to be 100% real leather, but do be aware of that. This very minor difference is not take away from the chair being easy to put up all by yourself. I'd say after about a half hour of carefully tightening and adjusting I was able to set this up by myself. I do like the shape of this chair, I'm as I'm more interested these days and more geometric and minimalist style designs. Everything feels well crafted, and the seats are firm but not too firm. It doesn't feel "lived in" or anything, but has just enough give to let you settle into the couch comfortably. You don't have to force yourself out of the cushions to get off the couch and you don't sink in either. The cushions arrived decompressed so do give them some time to fully air out once you release them from the plastic sealing them. It takes up a good amount of space, the whole couch, without feeling out of the way and I'm hoping this brand continues to make similar style sets as this is a sort of unique shade of brown that I've been having trouble matching outside of this couch set. Besides that, a comfortable couch that up to three people can sit on and would go great with an ottoman of a similar shape and color. When assembled with the base and bottom cushions, it appears to have the potential as a nice sofa. But then the partially deflated appearance of the backrests gives an underwhelming and unbalanced look and feel. Primarily, my two-star rating is finding that a return is likely impossible since the cushions are compressed upon delivery and there is no chance of fitting everything in the box.
