But I set it up and turned it on. The gears are metal. **Q: Not enough power to feed. If the speed is turned up the stuffer overheats and backs up. Any solutions/suggestions?** A: We found that you have to add water. About 1 cup per 5lbs. We ran it about half speed for salami 3 inch tubes and we could go full speed with beef sticks. Something else we found was that the O-ring was upside down on the plunger which will allow the meat to back up around the plunger. **Q: Does the plunger remove to clean it?** A: I do not recall, but do not recall having difficulty cleaning the whole thing.
