Can I run this derailleur with my current shimano 10sp shifter? The shimano deore sl-m610?** A: I believe that Shimano's 10 spd mtn shifters are pretty much the same, regardless of the year. I'm using a 10 spd Zee shifter with it and it works fine. **Q: will this work on a 10 s road bike with 11x42 (rear)?** A: I honestly don't know, but it is designed for use with 42-46T cassettes as long as the shifter has the same pull ratio, theoretically it will work with both 10- and 11-speed shifters. Google says a mtb derailleur should work. **Q: Can i use this with my 9 speed shifter and 9 speed cassette?** A: Not out of the box. When Shimano went to 10 speed, they altered the shifter/derailleur pull. JTek may make a pulley that will allow you to do so, but you'll need to visit their website and pore through the compatibility charts there. If you find one, then you'll need to find a retailer that carries it.
