Review: Good speakers - I bought these for my boat since they are made similar to marine speakers, which if you read how they are made are never actually waterproof. They sound nice - very clear, maybe a little to much treble but I haven't adjusted my stereo yet. They do stick out and the covers are easy to knock off so you will most likely have to screw them in through the speaker cover.

**Q: How would these compare to the jbl gto629?**
A: These speakers are more compared to the JBL CLUB series. Please note that JBL and Infinity are both made by Harmon.

**Q: The description says these can be driven by 'any' head unit. My headunit is 4ohm only. Can these speakers be used safely with this headunit?**
A: "True Four OhmsAll Reference speakers feature two ohm voice coils. Original factory-installed speaker wiring in many cars is 18-22 gauge. This wire, and heating in the voice coil when power is applied, increase the impedance "seen" by the amplifier or head unit. The impedance of Reference Speakers has been adjusted to compensate for this increase and can be safely driven by any head unit."I cannot seem to find any detail about my own headunit, but I have all stock sound system equipment except for the new speakers, and they work perfectly.

**Q: Will these still sound as good if I install them with a baffle?**
A: they are very clear and crisp. I can't say for sure but i'm sure they would still sound excellent with a baffle.

I've tried several different speakers including the JBL GTO, the Powerbass, and the Infinity Primus. I didn't want to go through replacing the factory head unit and amp and run wires so I had to find a 2 ohm speaker for my Volvo. The JBL GTOs were 3 ohm but even that cut my volume available considerably. The Powerbass were ok but not enough punch in the mids. Which is exactly what your 6.5 inch speakers are for. Midrange. And in this case they are coaxial speakers so they also have the tweeter built in. Crisp and clear as you can get from 2 ohm speakers. The best bass you're gonna get from any available 2 ohm 6.5 speakers out there. Just wired them directly in and go. I've put 165 watts X 4 to them and they all have handled it perfectly. Infinity has always come through for me in the past... They didn't let me down this time either..
