This has been a fascinating season as both Axe, and Rhodes show they will go to any length to destroy the other. They will put at risk their family life, and fortunes just to see the other one suffer. The women in their lives also show the best, and worst of themselves this season. I have seen it suggested (in reviews) that Axe's wife is greedy to worry about hanging onto half of the money that is hers by marriage, but I think it's possible she is considering Axe would be happy to hold onto half his money, (for his entire family) rather than let the government take it all. Next season will tell the tale of her true intentions. While Chuck's wife Wendy Rhodes seems to have no qualms about humiliating her husband (Chuck) - unless that Sadistic/Masochistic bedroom dynamic possibly carries over to their non-bedroom life.Seeing Wendy vow to take care of Axe as he is hauled off by the Feds was interesting, and another great set-up for season 3.The character of Taylor has turned out to be a great addition, and Taylor's loyalty to Axe has grown immeasurable as he has given "them" more responsibility (and many bits of wisdom). They (Taylor) are the only person to consistently handle Wendy Rhodes with an upper hand, and as well any questioning from the D.A.s office finds Taylor unflappable, and loyal to Axe..Great character development this season. I cannot wait to see what will happen in Season 3. Keep it coming Showtime. This show gives Homeland a run for its money for sure.

My Lord people are petty. Review the show, not if you can download it with your over-priced, slow cable internet. This is a well thought out show where you don't like the "good-man" (convictions, but very self-righteous, even though he likes to get peed on, but heeeeeeee slips and I know it's coming but that betrayal was as bad as cheating, she will forgive him), but you tend to like the "Bad Man" (The man who had the nerve to go from a Jersey street punk by being ruthless and winning by working while YOU SLEPT). We have Gale (great actor, sorry Breaking Bad reference), he's not really Gale, but I'm not doing spoilers. It was average at first, it gets better and it really got good at the end of the first season and really really good here at the start of season two. Don't think the government isn't just as crooked as the hedge fund managers, in fact, they are worse because of their smug self-righteousness. It also has a new major player that should give bigots a run for their money. I like entertainment, this is entertainment, I walked out of LALA land, it was ass-a-attainment and the Academy awards are a farce run by fascist, racists.

Good from the start, better with every episode

Damian Lewis is, as always, excellent. Perfect protrayal of a trading firm owner/billionaire character. The character development and writing - all top notch. The new addition of Taylor, the super smart prodigy really accentuates the dominant and suberb Bobby Axlerod (Damian Lewis). The sub-plots are very engaging and speak more to human nature than one would expect from a show named "Billions". The power structures involved at the highest levels of business and politics are well represented. The dynamics of money, power and influence for political and legal positioning are very well nuanced and believable.Paul Giamatti is not what you'd expect going in to the show but he pulls the character off marvellously. Maggie Siff (Paul Giamattis' wife in the show) juggles being the psych doctor/therapist for Axe Capital (and Damian's character, Bobby Axlerod) and the ensuing framework for her moral code emerges. She could have another show built around her character. Her acting delivers refined sub plots that give the show it's refreshing depth.Great writing, great acting, great character development and additions, all on a backdrop of the wealth, influence and power New York seems to visually exude (not unlike The Devil's Advocate).Watch it. It's definitely worth the time.
