Good deplin alternative
I took deplin for years. The price got outta hand. 68 for one month, $200 for 3 months. This is half the price and I’d say does just as good in my opinion. A slight difference but I still feel happy and better than without. With deplin I get a bit of a “rush” of energy especially with my vyvanse. I’d say I feel pretty much the same maybe slightly less. But my mood and focus is just as good. Deplin made me nauseous, this does too still so I recommend take it with a meal or eat right after. If you’re considering it as an alternative I’d highly recommend. I was very worried I wouldn’t find something similar but this works well. Update after a few weeks. Still a great deplin alternative in my opinion. I actually don’t feel much difference. Happy I took the chance here and really hope this review can help someone who’s worried about alternatives.

works well with psych medications.
i'm on 8 different psych meds currently (dont worry i won't list them all lol), and my psychiatrist recommended that i get a gene test done to see how my body processes my medications. after i got the results, we landed on this supplement to add to my daily medication regimen. i've been using it for about 5-6 months now and i will say, i am feeling better mentally and that all of my medications are working well, especially the ADHD stimulants. the only downside is how expensive this L-methylfolate is. it sucks having to spend an extra $30 a month when my medications are already so expensive but for now i think its worth it? i'll come back and edit when its been a year.

This can change your life if you have MTHFR
Experience With MethylPro (11 Days in): I wanna start out by saying that I ordered the 90 pill 15mg bottle. The reason being I had inherited the homozygous C677T mutation Mutation, so definitely not the worst of it's kind but I suspected my mother may have unknowingly been suffering from the effects of high homocysteine levels. In addition to this I also supplanted Jarrows methylB12 and might switch to their methylB complex after this month is done. The effects of methylfolate have been subtle and presumably cumulative simply because of the nature of the brain's serotonin system. I take this as a good thing seeing as an instant fix to a sensitive cognitive system could have all kinds of negative side effects. Simply put, I am in awe that it has only been 11 days since I started, it feels like it had been much longer. You begin to feel lighter, sharper, peaceful. I've got to say, that was indeed the most profound effect. I had been slowly isolating myself from people for around 3 years simply because I found myself confused and in a fog unable to follow conversations or even pick up on social cues. The worst part was noticing this deterioration of my mental state and not knowing what it was. Now I'm not saying that this is some miracle vitamin that has made me a social butterfly again, I have 3 years to make up for in lack of socializing, what I am saying is that this vitamin has begun to give me the peace of mind that I had forgotten was even possible. Serotonin is a hell of a drug. I hope to only write an even better review after my month on methylfolate. A month later: I will keep this concise. My quality of life has improved dramatically and I find myself requiring less stimulation in order to remain present. This can only be described as an overwhelming sense of peace and understanding in situations that would have previously plagued me to no end. I feel I am a completely different person from who I was a month ago and hope to continue this journey!

Life saver
I have never in my life felt this amazing.. if you feel your antidepressants are not working well for you, maybe try this in congruent. (I am not a medical doctor) but I used to be so tired of life, of getting up every day and even waking up was a drag. I’ve been on these for almost 2 weeks now and I can say my life is completely different. I wake up so happy to be alive, no exact reason just being happy… I started to take it, because I heard amazing reviews on it helping focus and hyperactivity, nothing yet on that side but definitely helped my depression tremendously.. I am shocked. I haven’t had any issues with stomach pain either or weird upset stomach, so far so good. If you’re hesitant, please try it and see for yourself how well this benefits you and your daily routine. I will never stop taking this.

Worth the money
I’ve been taking these for about 5 weeks and have noticed a difference in mood. I deal with depression but really hate the way prescribed meds make me feel. These were the repeatedly praised by my doctors and I finally gave in. They are small and easy to swallow. Easier than gel ibuprofen. I will update after 90 days. But I do feel less gray and blah, and it’s done wonders for my skin/nails.

It’s saving me....literally.
I have been on antidepressants for 20 years. All of them came with horrible symptoms. I think I tried 10 in all. They were all SSRI’s and whether they caused worsening depression or horrible weight gain or rage or sickness, I could never find one that would work. So, I did some research about the MTHFR genetic mutation since my whole family deals with chronic depression and autoimmune disorders. After trying Lexapro for three years after my mom died and becoming a rage-filled overweight monster (gained 35lbs and lost it in two months within stopping it without changing diet or exercise), I figured that SSRI’s just weren’t for me and maybe the gene thing was the key. So, my psychiatrist (yes, my prescription pill-pushing psych doctor) actually prescribed this L-Methylfolate dosage (15mg) instead. I weaned off the Lexapro responsibly. I take it daily with 100mg of niacin to counterbalance any side effects and for better functioning of the l-methylfolate. And? I’m actually not depressed. I actually have some days where I feel alive and happy. Even being just content is amazing to me. Yes, it’s pricey and this brand corners the market for this dosage. I don’t make a lot of money and this is a big hit to my grocery account for a family of five. However....I’m back to my old healthy weight (5’8” 140lbs), not falling apart (or worse) and I’m getting through life one day at a time. I’ve had no ill effects since I started taking the niacin with it (I had some irritability issues). Everyone is different though, some people’s bodies absorb it great and don’t need anything else. Some take SAM-E with it. Do some research if you have side effects before giving up on it. I went through a period where I did only herbs like Skullcap, Passionflower, Ashwaghanda (recommended), St. John’s Wart (barf), Omega-3/Fish Oil (recommended), Valerian Root, Kava Kava, Magnesium (powder and spray/recommended), blah blah blah......and all of it just wasn’t enough. It wasn’t taking away that darkness, ya know? Now, I’m not a doctor and legally can’t give advice (obviously).....but if your story sounds similar to mine, then I say give it a try. Be patient with it and with yourself. Let your body adjust to it. Don’t expect a miracle on day one. You wouldn’t expect the same with antidepressants or vitamin tablets if you were anemic. And? Don’t give up. Okay?

Worked great. Don't know if it did as much as I thought
Edit: Changed from 4 to 5 stars. I think it did help overall. Not an incredible amount, but I'm trying these again from a cheaper version (#1 on L-Methylfolate on Amazon right now). Worth it if you can get for half the price or less, imo. Original: Literally can't tell, as I've moved onto a healthier lifestyle with diet and exercise and feel better than I did on these meds. But before all that, these probably did help. Recommended by my psychiatrist. Not on them anymore, and may be overpriced, but I assume they're good.
