## Description

Multizone: Protect from Interference Most IR extenders are programmed to pass any signal that is sent through the receiver. Sometimes this may disrupt your setup as a few devices in your closet run on a similar IR frequency and cause interference with one another. The Multizone feature protects your devices from interference from other devices. This gives you the ability to have certain devices controlled only from specific areas in your setup. This has been a requested feature from many of our customers as they have extended IR signals but unintentionally were controlling two devices located in the same space. Cable boxes have especially been a pain since multiple cable boxes are easier to have based in the same area. Now with the BlastIR Wireless Multizone you are able to ensure you will only control the box that is attached to one of your TVs and not the other. The Channel IR System The Multizone feature works on a 10-channel system, this system gives you the ability to interact with your devices without needing to worry about your Wireless Extenders interfereing with one another. The system also gives you the option of using any number of transmitters or receivers on any given channel. This gives you complete freedom of choice for where your displays and devices can be placed without having to complicate your setup. The BlastIR Wireless Multizone Receivers will only communicate with the BlastIR Wireless Multizone Emitters that are set to the same channel. If you happen to own the classic BlastIR Wireless, this product will also work with it. Channel 0 on this product will allow IR signals to be sent between the two diffferent versions.

Review: Extremely easy setup. Just works. - Extremely easy setup and excellent function for me. I recently found that I had to replace the Recoton IR100 IR blasters that I have used for years because the IR100 emitters were being saturated with an RF signal that produced continuous IR output of them in the 25KHz to 40KHz range. Probably the recently relocated located TV station transmitter, which is now in a direct line of sight to my house, but I dont have equipment to prove that... The IR100 operates on a band in the 400MHz range. My setup uses a receiver just above the TV screen to capture my IR remote controls output, and 2 emitters, one across the room and about 15 feet away from nearly all the HT equipment on a side wall, and a second one behind the center channel speaker that controls a couple remote turn on devices for power amps located with the front LR speakers and subs. I went with the Sewell as a possible replacement because its RF communications is at a much higher 915MHz, which I hoped would experience less interference. I can say that the Sewell never seems to trigger false IR blasts in my location, so that pat of my hope has been fulfilled. I also hoped the first Sewell emitter would be powerful enough to cover the equipment from the same spot as the IR100, but while waiting on the Sewell to arrive, I built up a standalone IR amplifier to plug into the IR extender jack of the emitter, just in case the built in LED wasnt powerful enough (it is). When the Sewell arrived I found that it didnt need my amplifier at all. The LEDs in the included extenders might need to be really close to whatever you want to control, but not the built-in LED. The second Sewell emitter slotted into the spot behind the center channel speaker easily. These are much smaller than the Recoton IR so arent nearly as hard to hide, and they come with sticky foam tape, magnetic and rubber disc options for attaching to the bottom for a variety of ways to locate the pucks and keep them in place, which is nice.
Review: Nice Product and Customer Service - I ordered this BlastIR Wireless Pro IR Repeater from Sewell to replace a wired version of an IR repeater from another company. We have moved our TV on to a wall location and are in the process of hiding all the wiring out of sight behind walls and/or in a cabinet. We still have some wires to go, but this product has enabled us to eliminate the IR wiring all together. It's a real improvement in both looks and performance over the cheaper, wired version we originally tried. The BlasterIR's Receiver is the component that faces the room and receives the IR signal from our remote controls. It's small enough to fit in the space between our sound bar and the bottom of the TV. It's range is great for our room size (about 22' long and 18' wide) and picks up the remotes signal from a side angle that's almost parallel to the TV itself. The receiver is powered through one of the USB ports integrated into the TV (although the device itself supports either a USB or regular plug-in option). I haven't used them yet but Sewell appears to have provided a few options to help with affixing the IR devices in their final positions including some adhesive pads and a magnetic pad option as well. I'm still playing around with the permanent placement of the IR Blaster Emitter. It sits inside a closed cabinet and faces the concealed cable box receiver, router and DVR components. It retransmits the various IR signals it receives from the IR receiver by blasting that signal to anything it faces. I just placed it in the cabinet about 5" away from the devices I wanted to control, plugged it in and it worked with no other set up. So far the BlastIR is working seamlessly and with much better function response time than the cheaper IR version we'd tried at first. The lag time between when a button is pressed on the remote control and the action taking place on the device I'm communicating with is minimal. The emitter itself is plugged into an outlet on a surge protector powering the other in-cabinet devices, although it too could be powered via the provided USB connection if desired. As a note, we did experience a shipping issue during our ordering process. The order it self was processed quickly and shipped in a timely manner. However, there was an issue with our actual receipt of the product and the USPS who reported it delivered to our mailbox when in fact it had not been. Regardless, we reached out to Sewell directly and they quickly resolved the issue for us with no problems and in a timely manner. I would recommend both this IR Blaster Pro product as well as Sewell as a trusted company itself.

## Features

- Note Some devices use RF instead of IR for remote control. The Blast IR Wireless Pro only works with IR devices. Please check the signal type of your remote to ensure it is IR before ordering. .Wireless Distance: 200m (650 ft.), distance may vary due to obstacles, IR Receiver Distance: 7m (30 ft.)Incompatibility : Yamaha HTR 6140, Arris DCX 3520E-M, OSD ATM-7 Speaker Selector
- BlastIR Pro receivers are directional and require facing the receiver towards where you will be using the remote. To improve reception and widen the angle of control, we recommend using the included IR receiver cable connected to the main receiver unit.
- BlastIR Pro Emitters work best when placed within a few inches of the devices you want to control. For best results we recommend attaching the included optional IR emitter cables so that the emitter is directly over the IR receiver of up to two devices. These are designed to stick directly to the devices that you are trying to control rather than sitting in front of them.
- Included USB and AC power cables, extra IR cables, mounting adhesive, and rubber feet.
- Wireless Distance: 200m (650 ft.), distance may vary due to obstacles, IR Receiver Distance: 7m (30 ft.)
- Incompatibility : Yamaha HTR 6140, Arris DCX 3520E-M, OSD ATM-7 Speaker Selector

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this work with a 20 year old sony cdp-cx240 200 cd changer?**
A: If it's IR then it will work. I have my transmitter target begin some cloth and it still works, so I think it works great.

**Q: Do i need one of these for each ir remote, that is roku, fire tv, tv, apple tv, etc?**
A: You'll need one IR receiver for each location where you want to receive infrared signals, and one emitter for each location where you want to emit infrared signals.

**Q: How far away can I be with remote control and still have it pick up the signal efficiently?**
A: The IR Receiver Distance is 7m (30ft)

**Q: Mom has cheap fireplace ir remote only works within 5 ft (she is chair-bound 12 ft away). will this ir repeater compensate (repeat signal closer )?**
A: It's hard to believe only 5ft, have you put in brand new batteries & cleaned the little window on the end of the remote and all the glass on the front of the fireplace?
If you have. This is a great IR repeater.
It has IR outputs that have double sided tape to mount in the perfect (sweet) spot
Mine is 20ft and 2 walls away

### ⭐ don't bother, it doesn't help
*by M***A on November 14, 2025*

set this up with the receiver 8ft in front of my sofa. transmitter 2 ft in front of my stereo. If I am within 3-4 ft of receiver it works fine. But what's the point?! My remote has a better range than that. I tried adding the secondary receiver - no improvement. I tried adding the direct attach transmitter node - worse. I could get blue LED to flash on both devices - meaning an IR signal had been received and re-transmitted - with no response from the stereo. But if I got to within that 3-4 ft range - it would work (no change in anything else). So even when the device is saying it got a signal, the transmitter is not sending it or not sending it correctly. This is the second IR extender I have tried - it is no better than the cheaper one and neither of them work as advertised.
