It is thick with a sticky gel. Worked great for my GMC terrain install with my ftm-500.Very little bounce when driving down our crap roads. Lots of rural areas and does not loosen. Awesome product ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great radio mounting bracket *by W***. on May 21, 2024* Having recently purchased a Yeasu mobile radio for my pickup I needed a bracket to mount the control head over the dash. This worked great. The suction cup has an adhesive on it to help it adhere to the windshield, so be careful when you go to mount it that you know exactly where you want it before removing the plastic cover over the adhesive. I did put two "Command" Velcro strips under the leading edge of the control head to make it doubly secure.
