There's nothing quite so wonderful as listening to kids laugh as they read.  This whole set of books is hilarious!  The author really understands what makes kids crack up.  If you like to hear your children giggle, buy them this book.

I am shocked that this was part of our schools curriculum as an option for reading material, and I have let his teacher/ principle know. I continue to struggle to find quality literature for my children that does not necessarily include the classics. These books are filled with phrases like "girls are stupid, my sister is stupid and my mother is stupid" as well name calling "you're a freak" and bullying with little resolution. They are not isolated incidents but they are attitudes and language used thought the books. This is not what I want my kids reading, living or learning about. Returned these the day we got them.

This is the first (and last) book I've read from this author.  Thought it had some underlying racism, with the bully being Asian with long, vicious fingernails and having her parents doing & explaining her science project.  Not going to read any more
