So the fob sat in a drawer for 5 years and I, fortunately, managed to avoid losing my only car key for that whole time. Fast forward to today, now that the car is old news, and it was a cakewalk getting this working. Found the fob again, checked the battery (it was good!) and called my local Batteries Plus about cutting and programing. For $85 out the door, they got the key cut and working just like it was OEM. $135 for a spare key vs dealership cost makes this a slam-dunk choice. Really pleased that I was able to get this done after such a long time, hence the review. One piece of advice, if you plan on taking the Batteries Plus route make sure you call around if there are multiple in your area. One location quoted me almost twice as much as what I ended up paying.
