Review: Good value but reviewers are accurate when they say these are not universal sizes - I bought this set to use on my wood lathe as a drum sander between a dead center and a live center. For that purpose these are great. Even after reading other reviews I gambled and ordered some replacement sandpaper cylinders. No dice. As a previous reviewer stated, these are an odd size that nothing seems to fit. That being said, I have a few rolls of adhesive backed sandpaper sold by an automotive paint supplier on desertcart that I wrapped around the rubber drum barber pole style and it sticks just fine, so I'll get a lot of use out of these cylinders. For my purpose I don't think I could get this setup any cheaper so I'm pleased.

Update My house burned down so I bought a second set and it is much better. The second set includes solid drums instead of each being made up of three interlocking pieces and the sleeves fit perfectly! Replacement sleeves are easy to find here on desertcart (just search Woodstock hard sanding sleeves).

**Q: can these be used in a drill press?**
A: I cut a piece of half inch diameter threaded rod and put it thru the sanding drum with a nut on each end. I left one inch of the threaded rod protruding from one end and chuck that up in my drill press. Works great.

A: I would recommend getting these instead:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NBBAKG/ref=oh_details_o08_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1They will fit the replacement sleeves at your local hardware store.  The shop fox ones are a strange size that is hard to find sleeves for.

**Q: Will these drums fit the ridgid belt/spindle sander?**
A: I think so they fit my Harbor Freight Sander and was a lot cheaper

I bought this set to use on my wood lathe as a drum sander between a dead center and a live center. For that purpose these are great. Even after reading other reviews I gambled and ordered some replacement sandpaper cylinders. No dice. As a previous reviewer stated, these are an odd size that nothing seems to fit. That being said, I have a few rolls of adhesive backed sandpaper sold by an automotive paint supplier on Amazon that I wrapped around the rubber drum barber pole style and it sticks just fine, so I'll get a lot of use out of these cylinders. For my purpose I don't think I could get this setup any cheaper so I'm pleased.

The sleeve on the largest drum was too big so elecrical tape was needed around the drum for it to fit. Most brands of sleeved dont fit the drums so I get replacements directly from shopfox. This is still great to have for sanding bandsaw boxes. Update My house burned down so I bought a second set and it is much better. The second set includes solid drums instead of each being made up of three interlocking pieces and the sleeves fit perfectly! Replacement sleeves are easy to find here on Amazon (just search Woodstock hard sanding sleeves).

Perfecty fit my Craftsman oscillating sander and made other sanding drum kits more useful. The quality of the sanding media seems on par with store brands and does great job of removing material and smoothing splinters and saw marks.
