Fantastic high-gloss finish and strong protection!
I recently used the Liquitex Professional High Gloss Varnish on my finished acrylic paintings and I’m highly impressed. I thinned it slightly with water to help with a smooth, even application, and it worked beautifully. Once dry, it delivers a true high-gloss finish that really enhances the depth and vibrancy of the colors—my artwork looks sharper, richer, and more polished. A great final touch that also provides lasting protection!

Very Nice Glossy Finish!
I was looking for an alternative to resin and this seemed be a front runner based on my research so my review has some comparisons. I’ve used this product a few times so far. It does have a really nice glossy finish (video is 2 coats dried, I will probably do 3). It’s not as glossy and smooth as resin (of course), but it’s a solid runner up (and barely has a smell!). I will say it is pretty finicky to work with. Make sure you practice on a few samples before using on something you really care about.-The consistency is very watery and milky. This makes it difficult to grab all the surface area. Make sure your piece is super clean (remove oils) before applying-It does not self-level like resin-It takes at least a day to cure enough to handle-It will likely bubble as you apply, I did “heat” some bubbles out like I do with resin-You’ll want to apply is quickly because if your covering acrylic paint, and go over it too many times, it will lift your pigmentI sand my edges after I apply the top coat so I will have to see if this stands up (not yet tested), but it dries pretty hard so I’m not anticipating an issue. In summary, I’d say it’s a good alternative and I will continue to use it.

Perfect for my fluid art!
I was skeptical about using this because I had bad luck in the past with other brands and other types of varnish. I make fluid art on canvas and wood and was never satisfied of the finished varnished look of anything I tried until I tried this particular varnish. Boy am i impressed! I was recommended this varnish by another fellow artist and was amazed by the smooth and glossy look her paintings had. It does not leave off a glare when light hits it which can absolutely ruin a good painting. I can walk around the entire painting in a lighted room and there is no glare just a clean, glossy, smooth finish. I applied 3 coats waiting 3 hours in between and it worked out perfectly! It has pleasant and sweet smell and from what I read it is not toxic so I can actually use this indoors in a ventilated area which solves my problem of not being able to varnish in the winter. Stop searching for another varnish and try this one out! :)

I love this stuff! Great for miniatures! Great with airbrush!
I love this stuff, it is high quality and stable. For miniatures painting, I use it for various special effects, such as a pre-treatment for oil washes, and as a tough protectant. Especially for lightweight plastic miniatures - when applied as an overcoat, you can put painted miniatures so treated and put them in a paper bag and shake em up pretty good before any paint damage would occur. Not recommended of course but against the wear of storage trays and foams this will protect your paint from rubbing off. In cases where you don't want the finish so shiny Vallejo makes a Matte version of this product, or overcoat this with a spray matte finish to tone down the shine if needed. This product is also great for many other applications, has nearly no smell, is non toxic, cleans easily with water, or warm soapy water if it gets sticky. If it sets harder it can be undone with Isopropyl Alcohol, or a good long soak in Simple Green can break it down unless it's had years to 'fossilize' then it can be pretty tough to undo, but still possible which is a good thing. I got the 32 oz bottle which should be a lifetime supply and I can also share some with my gaming buddies to help kick up their painting level. I thin it a bit with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner and blast away with my cheap airbrush (don't use your prime airbrush for varnishes) too. Build it up in thin coats for professional results on many different media. Clean airbrush immediately after and don't let it sit for any length of time or it gets gummy in there.

Great finish
This is great for painting. Has a really nice coat and is super glossy. I’ve used it for multiple paintings. The price is perfect for the amount can do a hand full of painting depending on size of canvas.

Good quality.
I had to order this twice because the first one was busted. It's good quality but if you order this make a not to have it shipped separately but It works.

I use this all the time
I use this all the time. Straight with an .5 airbrush or .8 sprayer. First spray on a far back mist coat at like 6-7 inches and let it set for about 6-7 minutes. Then apply a close up wet coat and you can either let it set up by itself or as I do often use a blow dryer to heat set and then you can re-apply in like 15 minutes. I use the heat setting on high then low then just air to cool. Not too much and always moving air flow location. It works great and puts on a nice gloss.Does it gloss like triple thick krylon or rustoleum? Close but nowhere near as thick which is good when creating certain finishes you want. Also the chance of it running or pooling is very low as you can get hi gloss with minimal product and that’s the difference. The finish comes out much more sheer slick and sans orange peel. It’s different from the createx glosses as it is easier on you when applying since it has no odor or chemicals and leaves a similar hard shell feeling on item. I tend to use this product more than the others by a good margin when laying down acrylics.

Works fast
Worked fast and made the paint look glossy and nice. Sadly it do ruin the brush since i cant find a way to neutralise the gloss but thats on me and not the product!

Très bon vernis brillant. Dure dans le temps

Highly recommend
Great varnish. Used it on top of another product to protect my painted picture. The colours were vivid and looked great. I varnished it 2 times and used a sponge brush. This evens out and doesn't leave any streaks, and dries pretty quickly. Highly recommend

Soy modelista y aficionado a trabajos caseros.
