These caps are WAY thicker than standard shrink wrap, so take your time when heating them or you can burn them up before they actually start to tighten up. Slow and steady wins the race with these. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shrink cap prevents rope end from fraying *by D***C on May 12, 2017* Worked fine for what I needed. I shortened several 1 1/2 inch manila climbing ropes and wanted these to cover the cut end to prevent the end from fraying. I did learn to heat from the cap end first instead of the open end otherwise as the open end shrinks it effectively pushes the cap off the end of the rope.
