The folder traveled all over the world holding my flight, hotel, tour, restaurant, etc papers for many holidays. Finally, after those seven years, the cardboard bit the dust and perished along the seams. It appears Europa no longer makes folders, or, at least, they cannot be found in the US. Enter desertcart, where one can order almost anything. With no Europa files to be found anywhere, I bit the bullet and ordered the Exacompta pack of 10. As soon as the folders arrived, I realized they were made differently than the Europa. And, unfortunately, not to Exacompta's advantage. The elastic on Europa's files snapped from the back around to the front. On Exacompta, the elastic snaps around to the back. It seems a small thing, but what it means is you can no longer take a piece of paper and secure it to the front of your folder with the two elastics. When traveling, it helps to be able to reach the one piece of paper you need. Now the file has to be opened to reach that piece of paper. The elastic is also strung in such a way to be loose if not snapped in place. On the Europa, the elastic was strung to be continuously smooth to the folder. As far as I can tell, the cardboard is roughly similar in quality, but the elastic being placed front to back instead of back to front is really a nuisance and makes me want to tape up my shabby old Europa file and keep soldiering on with it.
