TBH calling it a sleep mode is actually a lie! Despite this though it works very well, and quickly brings down the moisture levels in the room. In a large bedroom it works and can feel the airflowing around the full room and actually helps to circulate any other heat such as from a radiator so while the dehumidifier does not produce a lot of heat, it does help the room to be hotter (better heated I guess). That said, if the room is cool, it can create a bit of a draft as the air flow is heavily increased. I would recommend this, but not if you want it left on while you sleep. Have now had this over a year, and still very pleased with the unit.
