Does it work? Yes it definitely does. We had one that was god knows how old in our sink. It was friggin filthy. No matter how much I tried to scrub and clean it, I swear it had bacteria living in the actual rubber. Oh and it smelled horrendous. I keep the disposal clean with weekly scrubbing and some orange oil essence, but the old splash guard just wasn't having it. This new unit fit like a glove and popped right in without issue. It weighs next to nothing, but the splash guard is worlds better than the old unit. I already put orange peels down the garbage disposal for testing and it very much kept any splashed water or debris from coming out at me. Unlike the old unit, which basically was a glorified fountain of ish when I turned on the garbage disposal. I was also able to remove the splash guard, just as easily as I put it in. Also, this is a great price for the splash guard(s). Being that you get 2 of them for $10, it's a fantastic deal.
