Trust me, the one for the 1000 model is a bigger case but has a molded non-removable compartment separator and will fit the 40 like a glove. The power unit on the small side and the cable clamps on the bigger side. The small accessories and books go in the mesh pouch. The 70 (2000) is an all inclusive unit that is designed to be in one compartment. It will not fit in the compartment case the 40 (1000) fits in.
