## Description

A shaving soap that's gentle on the skin and ensures pure comfort. This is a product for shaving connoisseurs. It moisturizes your skin and contains lavender oil for a relaxing effect. The blend of essential oils provides a natural aromatic experience. Even the smallest amount produces a rich, creamy lather.

Review: Good slickness, easy to lather, smells great, rinses clean off and gives dozens of shaves. - I like shave sticks for their convenience. Rub onto a wet rough beard (or rough scalp for a head shave,) brush vigorously for a minute, and you have doubled exfoliation and lathering for a great start to a shave. I imagine the coarser the hair stubble, the more soap you would use, and the more you would need, so maybe its self adjusting? These are hard soaps. To bowl lather, it helps to make very fine shavings with a zester and let it bloom for a few minutes with a tiny bit of water in the shave bowl. You can get all the lather you want doing it that way. I would guess one of these would last a daily shaver dozens upon dozens of shaves. Im not certain, but Id guess face lathering it could last 40-60 days of shaving. I use a lot because I scalp shave with it, and Im getting 2 months out of my shave sticks. This is all presuming the use of a shave brush, I admit that lathering Speick with wet a hand only will make much less lather, but it is still doable. (There are so many affordable shave brushes out there, I recommend getting one) These stick soaps rinse out of the razors (old fashioned DE blade razors as well as modern cartridges) very well. Give these soaps enough water! They work better, they rinse out better, they wash off the skin better once youre finished better. The scent. Im not good at describing the scent. Moderate strength initially, and dissipates after a few minutes following clean up. Very flowery overall scent right up front, without being sweet. Very clean smell. Not cloying. Faintly earthy.
Review: I love the shave and the scent! No post shave products necessary with this. - This is my first shave stick and it's awesome. The only drawback on this is that lathering a brush on a soap puck in a bowl/cup is that the lather really gets into the brush and your second and third passes are still very soapy. When I went for my second pass on this it wasn't as foamy as the second passes from soap puck shaving. I used this with my brand new Merkur 34C and the included Merkur blade. I love the shave and the scent! I'll buy it again. Now it's off to the container store for a dispenser for this. Update: I've used this at home with hard water and at the gym with soft, with two different razors and two different razor blades and can tell you I think it's my favorite shaving soap to date. The lather is very slick with great cushion. The scent is awesome and the healing properties of that plant or whatever actually makes my face feel "treated" after a shave. THEY NEED TO GIVE THIS A CONTAINER THOUGH! Update: I've found over the last few months of shaving with about 12 different creams and soaps that this is one of the FEW that does NOT require any post shave products. My face feels great after rinsing and drying and giving plenty of time for dryness and irritation to set in, but it never does after shaving with this! AWESOME!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is a push-up container included, or, is it in a simple wrapper (like Arko)?**
A: It's been so long I may not be accurate. I don't think it came w/push up container. Tabac was by far the best!!

I've switched to soft cream types like Trumper's and will NEVER go back to sticks again.

You can search for them here.

**Q: How would you describe the aroma?**
A: It's been a long time since I used it. So, it wasn't anything special or I would have remembered it. I use shaving creams now BUT I did use Tabac Stick and I remember the aroma VERY well. It was excellent! Go to one of those Cologne/Perfume places in Malls and get a whiff of Tabac cologne - it will give you a much better idea - Hope this helps.

**Q: What is the diameter of the soap itself? I'm trying to figure out what size dispenser will be required.**
A: The shave stick is self-contained. It's a little over an inch (about 1 1/8") in diameter, but I don't know that any sort of dispenser would be useful.

**Q: Country of Origin ? Thanks.**
A: Hello, The country of origin for this product is Germany.Hope this has helped you.RegardsThe Original Shaving Company

Dont know why the bad reviews. No its not a tallow base or ultimate artisan italian croap, it is a dailindaily kind of basic soap. It does have a scent that you can smell while shaving, but I have never smelled it afterwards. The smell is much like pine, with a hint of lavender. I only use witch hazel or toner for aftershave, sometimes alum if the blade is nearing dull and I get a rough shave, but the scent has never lingered (even though I usually shave and rinse at a sink, not the shower) and this would not compete for power or alter the smell of those who use scented aftershaves. I dont really seek out scents, but dont care much either so long as it does not aggravate my nose like aftershaves and perfumes, or linger past rinsing my face, and Ive bought this multiple times. it is a shave stick about 1-1\4” dia by about 3” and a medium hardness that seems to last quite a while for its weight. For some reason you only find “refill” sticks now days, which means there is no top plastic cover on the stick. It ships in a similar sized box, with a simple plastic base at the bottom of the soap stick. I just use a pill jar or the top of a Lea stick tube. Pill jars work well for travel, having a very secure lid anyhow. I made a few small holes in one end so it can breathe and dry back out if I should need to pack it up shortly after. For a very basic soap, the post shave is good, soft and smooth. This is one of my summer soaps, as it does not have extra moisturizers. It only dries me out if I over load directly to my face, and dont use enough water (but thats a perfect recipe to dry your face with any soap though). I tend to use lanolin and extra buttered soaps in the winter, as my face chaps in the freezing winters after a shave, but is typically oily in warmer weather. I find this soap easy to use as a rub on, and then lather with a brush; but having wire hair, it is easy to overdo and takes a lot of water to balance without drying prematurely (i also shave outdoors a lot in warmer weather and that is a 100x factor in drying too quick) so I tend to simply load a brush directly. Maybe some with troubles are using extra soft brushes? I tend to prefer stiffer like boar and have no problems loading it. I simply swirl around the tip edges of the stick rather than trying to get the brush and stick dead on to each other. Same for the brush, I use the midline rather than the tip or outer edges. This results in a brush load without flicking specks around like a messy toothbrusher.
