I moved into my current home (in the country with a septic system, not a sewer) only to have repeated drain issues. I called in professionals to pump out my septic tank, only to find other issues that needed to be fixed to the tune of $5k. At that time, they advised highly that I remove my sump pump water from the septic system to help with further issues. As I was researching how to do just that, I found this product recommended highly based on the climate where I live. So we got to work digging the trench for new tile to redirect the sump water out of the septic system. After it was all installed, I kept a close eye on the pipe during the Arctic weather we had this winter. While some water froze around the inlet pipe (into the ground) this fitting did exactly what it was meant to do. Not once did it freeze solid even on the coldest day. And trust me, my sump runs a lot.
