The Perfect Tactical Sling Pack for Every Adventure!
I recently purchased the 5.11 56963-186-1 SZ Moab 6 in Ranger Green, and I can confidently say that it's one of the best tactical sling packs I've ever owned. This pack offers an excellent combination of functionality, durability, and versatility, making it the perfect companion for any adventure.First and foremost, the build quality of the Moab 6 is outstanding. The rugged 1050D nylon construction ensures its durability, even in challenging outdoor conditions. I've taken this pack on numerous hikes, camping trips, and day outings, and it has held up exceptionally well. The YKK zippers are smooth and reliable, and the stitching is solid throughout. The Moab 6's design is well thought out, with plenty of organizational features to keep your gear in order. The spacious main compartment easily accommodates essentials like a water bottle, snacks, a jacket, or a small camera. The front admin pocket and the concealed back pocket provide additional storage options for smaller items, such as keys, a wallet, a phone, or a multi-tool. I appreciate the multiple internal and external pockets, which help me keep everything neatly organized and easily accessible. One of the standout features of this sling pack is the ambidextrous shoulder strap system. Whether you prefer to wear it on your left or right side, you'll find the padded shoulder strap comfortable and adjustable for a custom fit. The pack can be quickly swung around to the front for easy access to your gear without having to take it off. The quick-release buckle allows for swift removal, making it ideal for situations where speed and convenience are crucial. The Moab 6's versatility shines through its MOLLE webbing, which allows for additional customization and attachment of compatible accessories. I've added a water bottle holder and a small pouch to expand the pack's carrying capacity, tailoring it to my specific needs. The grab handle on the top is a great addition, enabling easy grabbing and moving when necessary.Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast, a hiker, a photographer, or someone who simply appreciates a well-designed and reliable sling pack, the 5.11 56963-186-1 SZ Moab 6 is an excellent choice. Its durability, ample storage space, and comfortable design make it a dependable companion for all your adventures. I highly recommend this pack to anyone in need of a versatile and rugged solution for carrying their essentials.

Great Small EDC
I recently got this bag since work decided to give us smaller lockers. My normal EDC (Oakley Icon Pack 3.0) no longer fits. I am happy to say that this fits everything I normally carry and still fits into my work locker. The bag itself is surprisingly large for its small stature. I no longer carry a laptop, so I didn't need such a large bag. This bag does let me carry a small notebook, tablet, lunch, water bottle, pens, folding knife, flashlight, small first aid kit, and sunglass case. The bag still has room to carry a bit more, but I am most likely going to pick up an external molle water bottle holder to free up internal space.I am very pleased with the quality of the bag. Build quality is strong and I have no problem believing that this bag will hold up for a number of years. I am also planning on building a new Bug Out Bag based around the larger Rush 12 Pack. This will also allow me to attach my current Rush 6 in the event of needing to get out and go. The Rush Tier Straps that come with the bag let you do this.Overall if you need a small sized EDC, then this is a great way to go.Update: It has been over one year and the bag is holding well. The bag is used everyday and carries everything I need on a bike. One complaint that has formed is that the bag rolls to the front of the body when riding. This could be fixed with a waist strap of some sort. Only small complaints for a bag that works extremely well. If this size is all you need then this is the bag for you.

The search is over.
I have been on a several year search for the "perfect EDC bag". I have many, many bags. I have "cheap" bags, Red Rock bags, UTG bags, Rapid Dominance (Rap Dom) bags, and Maxpedition bags. I believe this, the 5.11 Moab 6, is as close as you can get to "perfect". At least for me. There is no need to review the quality of the bag, it's a 5.11, you know from the get go that it is a well built bag. Maxpedition and Rap Dom both make top quality bags, but there was always something about them that I just didn't care for...too big, too small, organization set up, ease of access to items, no choice of carry side. The Moab 6 hits it out of the park on all of those points. For EDC purposes, the size is just right. Big enough to carry my EDC essentials, but not so big as to tempt me to overload it. The organization is excellent. You can easily switch from right side to left side carry. The most important aspect to any bag, for me, is ease of access to the items I use the most. Again, this bag is perfect. The front pouch has multiple pockets for pens, notebooks etc, and has 2 pockets that can hold a full size AR magazine. (I keep my eyeglass case in one), and all are easily accessed one handed, without having to look at the bag. The same goes for the rear (large) compartment. The front side of the rear compartment has 2 zippered pouches. I keep things like chapstick, ibuprophen etc in the top pouch, and again, it's easily accessible one handed, without having to actually look in the bag. The pouch attached to the strap is perfect for my e-cig supplies. The "hidden" CC pouch is a nice touch, but it won't hold a full sized handgun. If you carry a sub-compact pistol, or small revolver, it's perfect. The gun will literally disappear.I can only think of 2 possible "cons" to this bag. 1. It does not have an exterior bottle holder. I don't need one, but if it matters to you, you should keep that in mind. It will hold a 32 oz Nalgene bottle inside the large pouch. 2. If you overload the bag, it tends to lean away from your body. This is easily remedied...don't overload it.This bag, IMO, is not really designed to be a day hike, or "bug out" bag. It is designed for, and excels at, being just what it is...an EDC bag. It would also make an excellent range bag. Just remember, if you overload it, and wear it, it will lean away from your back, and pull on your shoulder. Like I said, don't overload it.I was so impressed with this bag, I bought it's big brother, the Moab 10. If you're looking for the perfect day hike bag, "get home" bag, or small "bug out" bag, it is also nearly perfect. But, that's a subject for a different review.

Best EDC bag I've ever purchased!
I am extremely pleased with with this bag- the 5.11 Rush 6 Mobile Operation Attachment Bag. I've owned several different backpacks and messenger bags, but this by far is the best one I've owned thus far for what I need. I use this for everyday carry, I typically my essentials, like a tablet, cell phone, 3DS, chargers, and small flashlight. The bag is a great size to carry all of these things in 2 main compartments. The largest internal compartment is roughly the size of an iPad (I can carry my iPad 2 in there with its case on snugly) with some space left over for my 3DS, and even a small book or two. This internal compartment also has a small zippered compartment inside (perfect for batteries, headphones, etc.) plus a cinch-close pocket in the bottom. The front compartment is much smaller, and has a few storage options for pens, ID cards, etc. The shoulder strap has a small, zippered pocket about the size of an average smart phone. There is also a zippered, padded pocket right on top by the shoulder strap for storing glasses or sunglasses. The shoulder strap is adjustable, and has a padded strip for comfort. There are only 2 spots on the bag for Velcro patches- on the front face and on the shoulder strap pouch. Molle strips cover the front and sides of the bag. Between the 2 main storage compartments is a hidden Velcro pocket. The pocket is just big enough for my S&W 642 revolver, unfortunately it won't fit a larger handgun without sticking out of the top. This pocket works great, and is totally concealed; I can access my revolver within seconds.I would highly recommend this EDC bag. I would also recommend checking out 5.11 Tactical's website- they have a walk through video showing all of the pockets in this bag. Please ask if you have any questions!

Best sling bag for parents and travelers.
I tried other options such as the "minimalist" versions found at outdoor retailers. But they were wimpy, didn't have enough space, and had zero to no interior pockets. I'm a dad of an active toddler. I needed something that was extremely durable so when I tossed it into our SUV it wouldn't fall apart. I needed something with plenty of interior pockets to hold wallet, cash, keys, sunglasses, mask, hand cleaner, ear plugs, pens and paper, lip balm, snacks, reading glasses, phone, etc. This bag fits the bill perfectly. There's enough room for me plus a snack for our family. When we take road trips this bag is where I put everything I need during the drive. The interior pockets are perfectly laid out. The sunglass holder is a huge plus as I'm constantly taking my sunglasses on and off during errands around town. The strap is very comfy especially when the bag is loaded. Unlike many other sling bags, the strap is customizable and easy to do so. The zippers are tough. I've hooked my water bottle to the exterior with no problem. Perhaps one of the best things is being able to quickly move the bag from my back to my front as I'm checking out at Costco and my family is with me. I no longer worry about dropping or losing things in my pockets because the only thing in my pocket would be the car keys, unless I've put them in the bag. Every dad needs one of these.

Good pack, some small issues though.
I like this pack, Its just big enough to carry everyday items, plus some first aid or survival gear. It holds my Glock 19 in the pouch, even with a M6 light on the end. Its a much tighter fit with the light on though. The quality seems top notch, all stitching is done nicely and clean. The fabric is very tough and seems like it would hold up. I really love sling packs, since its so easy to get to your gear when needed. The should pad slides with the strap so it stays put as the pack in swung in the front of you. All in all, its a decent pack for the money. I had a 3V posse pack and this at the same time and had a really hard time deciding which to keep. What finally did it for me was the conceal compartment in the 5.11 bag. Its very easy to get to your weapon when its needed. I have been using this as a EDC for the past week and have been pretty happy. It will carry must of peoples every day gear. I can fit my Ipad Mini in the back pouch, which is nice. The reason is got 4 stars instead of 5 were a few things that I found annoying.#1 The buckle for the strap, its TOO far up and past your shoulder. You have to reach behind you head to get to it to unlock it. This makes it almost impossible to lock it to strap the bag to your back. You have to lift your arm and feed the strap around to wear it. They should have brought the buckle down to the front side of your chest to make it easy on and easy off.#2 The back padded pocket is only padded on the back side. This means that inside the pack there is a thin piece of nylon that protects whatever you have inside from the back pocket, no real padding. Also, some people say this is used for a water bladder. I can see that, but I can also see that there is nothing to hold the bladder away from the contents of the main compartment. If you bladder is filled with cold water, I can see the condensation getting through that nylon ply and soaking whatever is in the back of the main compartment.#3 Comfort is not very good. Its ok, just not as comfortable as other packs I have tried. I have adjusted the strap both long and short, have tried both sides (even though i need it for right hand) and its still not comfortable over a long period of time. The design has the bag with the top tilted down. If you have any weight in the bag, you will feel it pushing into you side on one side and not sitting flush against you back on the other. You have to juggle between those 2 to try and find a sweet spot. They should have included another strap coming from the other side to center the pack on your back. Also, the pack is very deep. If you put stuff in the admin pocket and nothing in the main compartment, the pack will hang down and expand the pack to make it huge. I ended up using the tier straps to shrink the pack down when its on my back. I have added pictures to show you what I mean. You do not have to do this, you can roll with the pack expanded if you want, up to you, me? I wanted the pack to be as thin as possible. Personal preference I guess.

Amazing bag
Let me start off by saying it arrived 2 days before it was supposed to come. I am 6'1" and 185 pounds and I find this bag a little small and very comfortable. I am an Eagle Scout, so I love being prepared with everything. So that means, I am able to fit all the essentials that I need in it with out over stuffing it with stuff that I want. I love it. I carried it on 3 hiking trips so far and down to Washington DC and this thing is perfect for me. It also has straps that you can put on the outside to either attach it to other 5.11 packs with the tier system or to strap a rain jacket or fleece jacket to it.The admin compartment, you are able to put pens and keys, and a few snacks in there. The CCW (gun compartment) is where you could put a pistol. I dont own one, so I didnt put one there. You can fit a 32 oz. Nalgene bottle in the main compartment with room left to spare. That is also where I keep my med kit. The outside also had Molle webbing for attaching knives with a Molle sheath. The Gerber Prodigy is a perfect size. This is a minimalist bag with only 650 cubic inches total. It is good for a small day pack. And I highly recommend this because it is the perfect size for what I need, it is high quality, and it's comfortable.Be Prepared.

Fantastic. A bag for years.
I needed a smallish bag for every day items and carting books/sundries around on my bike. This bag has pretty much changed the way I structure my life. Sounds weird I'm sure, but it's tough, and very well laid out. So well laid out, that I found myself organizing it with things I normally didn't bother to carry. So yes, now I have a man purse, but hot damn am I excited about having pretty much all the things I always wish I had handy at my fingertips, plus enough room for a couple of books, a light lunch and a few bottles of beer. Hell, It'll fit a change of clothes or two. I will probably even try to make this bag last me 3-4 days on a trip out of town later this month. I might have to go light on the books though...The seams are very solid, and the zippers seem strong. I am a big fan of the two-directional adjustments available on the sling. I haven't had much cause to use the webbing yet, but it is really neat to know that it can just clip onto my camping backpack if I want to. Very modular, and I am a fan of versatility.I now carry this bag every day, and have for better or worse, spent a few hundred dollars stocking it with all the little tools, first aid, and other assorted bells and whistles. I kinda wanted the slate-gray color they offer on the 5.11 site, but the black is perfectly fine. Really couldn't be happier.Unless it had come fully stocked with all the things I keep in it now...

Overall a really good bag.
I already own a 5.11 tactical rush 24 backpack but needed something smaller for everyday use as well as carry extra gear while travelling which made my purchase of the MOAB 6 a no brainer as this pack, like the larger MOAB 10, can physically attach to the rush series of packs extending the carry capacity transforming 2 bags into one if need be (the MOAB 6 even comes with the clips and straps to do this which is a bonus). Just like the larger rush series packs this item is hard wearing with ample compartment and pouch options in the interior for it's size which is quite small compared to most packs. The shoulder strap is fully adjustable / removable with movable / removable padding. There are 2 minor things about this bag that bug me however 1. If I adjust the pack on my body because of movement it causes the padding to move along the strap so I have to move it back every time this happens but that's a really minor thing that is an instant fix. 2. There is a pouch at the top of the bag attached to the strap to store a mobile phone or comms with a hole so you can plug in earbuds or headphones and listen while it is still in the pouch which is a pretty cool idea until I tried it and had an issue. On my phone the hole to plug earbuds in is on the top edge of the phone and the puds I was using was a straight plug (not angled from the wire) so the wire was sticking out the top edge of the phone making the overall size too long to fit it all in the pouch so I invested in new buds with an angled jack plug which fit fine not a huge issue but something to keep in mind. **UPDATE** I recently upgraded my phone to the new google Pixel and even though I opted for the smaller version it doesn't fit in the pouch for phones at all so unless you have a small phone don't expect that pouch to be of much use for storing a phone.
